It is with complete confidence that I write this review. We recently had a family member staying at Prestige Porthaven care center. First, please note our family member was not an easy case, there were a lot of details to his care. Having negative experiences before we were ready to go to battle. But we were nothing but delighted with the professional, compassionate care he received. Everyone was helpful and accommodating with such good attitudes we just can't stop telling people about it. We lived about 5 hours away and could not be there on a daily basis this was hard for us until we realized he was receiving the best care and attention and how well Porthaven communicated with us. We are so greatful and appreciate, beyond words, the hard work and compassion we experienced with this facility! Bob is home now doing very well! He is a strong man but we believe the care he received also made it possible for him to return home. I have and will continue to recommend this facility, there aren't enough stars on this page to rate them properly!

As far as the facility is concerned, the rooms are very small and do not have their own private bathrooms. Residents have to use a common bathroom in the hall. There is no air conditioning, and at times the facility reeks of urine and feces. During my short time there day staff confided in me that that the night shift staff watched TV while patients were left unattended and sitting in their own urine and feces. The pictures on-line are of the newer rooms, and do not depict the facility accurately. I wouldn't leave anyone I cared about in the care of the staff at PortHaven. I was accepted into their CNA training program at which time the nurse instructor Marianne Wallace insulted, berated, and bullied the students in her class. I felt compelled to leave the program when Marianne threatened to use a dirty needle on me when administering a TB test. I found out later that three other people from an earlier class had left due to Marianne’s behavior. HR knows about Marianne’s behavior, but they ignore complaints made about this unprofessional woman.

Not at all. I felt terrible for all the staff members

Definitely! I was shocked and horrified!

This place is horrible! I was accepted into their CNA training program at which time the nurse instructor Marianne Wallace insulted, berated, and bullied the students in her class. I am going to refer everyone I know here. I absolutely love this place. Their primary concern is what's best for me, and they only give me the advice that would benefit me the most. It was nice to hear how much the staff respected them. It made me that much more confident that I was under the care of a professional. They had a couple of interesting magazines, but their selection wasn't very impressive. I didn't find that I needed magazines as I wasn't kept waiting. My Dad loved the care he received at Porthaven, he made a caring friend in one of the medication aides. I am in the medical field and would recommend this facility to all my friends and family.
