Patients wait way too long for help getting to the bathroom. My fiance has waited for way more than an hour and the same goes for help getting from the wheelchair in which they sit back to bed when getting tired. She claims that she has only had 2 showers in 17 days of being there. There is one assistant woman on the second shift(comes on at 3pm) who is nothing but rude and obnoxious.

Worst place ever! No one should be subject to a place like Manor Care. In early June my father was admitted to Abington Hospital. The doctors at Abington told my father he had a stroke and need to be transferred to a skilled rehab facility to learn how to walk again. Since he is a peritoneal dialysis we were told Manor Care was are only option.

When he entered Manor Care he was talking, making jokes, and eager to learn to walk again. Unfortunately somewhere between Abington and Manor Care someone messed up his medicine. Manor Care doubled the prescribed does of his phospherus binders. This caused extreme vomiting for three weeks. We kept requesting that he be transferred back to the hospital. But they refused, They doctor kept saying under Obamacare patients are not admitted for extreme vomiting (even though he did not hold down any food for three weeks). My Mom and sister-n-law were the ones to discover the mistake.

Because my father was so weak he developed pneumonia. Again we asked if he could be transferred to a hospital and again we were told Under Obamacare people are no longer admitted for pneumonia. They also thought my father was have either mini-strokes or silent seizures. After 10 days on antibiotics we were told he was getting better. But he did not. Instead his oxygen level dropped to 82% and his blood pressure spiked. Instead of calling an ambulance, which is recommended when a patient's oxygen level drops below 90%, they put him in his bed and put him on oxygen. They did not attach or have any monitoring equipment. They failed to notify the family.

When my brother and I went to visit we could tell our father was literally dying. We demanded to speak to the doctor and again she refused to send him to the hospital. Again the doctor said under Obamacare he would most likely not be admitted to the hospital. This time they said we could take him against the doctor's orders but if he was not admitted he could not be admitted back into Manor Care. They said his insurance would not pay for my dad to be readmitted to Manor Care once he exits the system. The doctor basically threatened us by telling us he would have nowhere to go if he was not admitted to the hospital (because my parent's house has three steps).

Anyway the doctor's solution was for us to call the nurses station every hour to see if he was still alive. She refused to sign a letter stating that Manor Care would promise to check on him every hour. When I called one hour later the doctor said my father was not stable and he needed to be transferred to the hospital. When I got there they told me we needed to wait 2 hours for an transport service. When I expressed concern about the wait they told me this was the way they transferred their patients. They only agreed to call the ambulance when I said I would be waiting in my dad's room to make sure he did not die in the next two hours, since there was no staff monitoring his oxygen levels. The ambulance arrived quickly only they could not transport my father because the nurses had not finished copying his medical records and disconnecting him from the dialysis machine. The nurses finally disconnected my father 45 minutes after the ambulance arrived. They only did so after the police officer and the ambulance driver demanded the nurses disconnect him. For the majority of the 45 minutes the nurses were at their station and did not enter the room. They admitted they only knew how to connect his dialysis machine since they were the night crew. Manor Care failed to train the evening nurses on how to disconnect the machine. They saw no need.

In addition to the problems I mentioned above we also had problems with nurses responding to the call button. There were times my father was waiting for almost two hours for nurses to respond to the call button. They left my dad in his wheel chair for up to 9 hours a day with little interaction. They connected and disconnected my father's dialysis machine without a mask and used the wrong solution to sterilize the port. The social worker would make promises but her promises were never followed through.

The one area that delivers excellent service was the speech therapist. Other than that I would recommend you avoid this place before they kill your relative too. Because when we finally arrived at Holy Redeemer we were told he would have been admitted earlier to the hospital under Obamacare for everything the doctor said he would not have been admitted for. In fact he had been having mini-strokes which lead to a massive stroke. I laid my father to rest on August 3, 2015, No one should die this way. There should be something called death with dignity and Manor Care does not deliver this.

This is the worse place ever. My relative was put in for rehab and we had to take her out after two weeks via 911 to the hospital because their doctor didn't believe she needed medical care. Once at the hospital she was diagnosed with a blood clot in the lung and put on heavy dosages of antibiotics for pneumonia. My relative went in weighing approx. 120 pounds. When they weighed her at the hospital, they were 107 pound. One of our arguments was that she hadn't eaten in three days but the CNPR told me that she was maintaining her weight. Nurses are extremely rude. The majority of the aides were great. They were more concerned about my relative than the medical staff. Glad that our nightmare is over!

Kim Goodall is the Administrator of Huntingdon Valley Manor Care Health Services. Why is she giving a review of this facility? Wouldn't most think that is a conflict of interest? Unethical? Someone let me know!

My review of this place is pending. So for now, it is a 1 star, especially since I know at least one employee is reviewing this place and let's face it, don't you want an authentic review?

Did the staff at this senior care facility ever take personal phone calls when they were supposed to be helping you?
Yes! They took a personal call right in front of me. I found it to be incredibly rude.

Yes! I was amazed at how clean it was!

This facility was a nightmare for me and my parent. There were nothing but problems with the nurses, administration, kitchen and the accounting dept. The nurses were really nasty and the accounting dept made mistakes on every invoice. Things were so bad I can write a book about this facility. Do not send anyone you love to this lousy place.

This is the worst facility. If you want your loved ones to go uncared for in this dirty faacility with horrible staff. Their negligence will probably cause the death of your loved one, like it did mine. FIND ANOTHER FACILITY. This place should be shut down forever.
