I would like to state that for the most part I THINK my parent has been taken care of. However...... they still allow alzheimes and dementia patients to 'decide' if they want certain shots or medicines. ALSO..... if a patients loved ones, decide to keep other members of the family from seeing or knowing how the parent is..... THEY KEEP THAT INFORMATION FROM YOU as well. THEY HIDE THINGS THIS WAY. WHY HIDE THINGS IF YOU AREN'T GUILTY OF SOMETHING??? Now... I'm not sure if they really do take care of my parent properly, anymore since they are hiding things. IF, they hide things from the family intentionally and condone what is happening and get into the family business, then they deserve to be fired. Nicole, Alexa and Jennifer... are all guilty of this. They intentionally hide things and help keep family away from dying loved ones. I have reported this to the BBB and will report it to whom ever else I can. This facility IS NOT trust worthy when it comes to your parents. If I could do it all over again, this would NOT be the facility I trusted with my parent.

I have had experience over the years with almost every nursing home in Monroe. All the other nursing homes should require their staff to come to the Lutheran Home and learn how to operate their homes, and to teach their staff by watching and learning from the staff of the Lutheran Home.
One staff leader/supervisor by the name of Valine (sp?) is fantastic! Not only with the residents, but also with the staff that follows her directions.
A big thanks to the Lutheran Home and all that work there.

We moved a resident into here from another rehab center in town where the care was substandard. It was such a relief to meet the staff here. We had an orientation from a staff member the day we arrived, had a constant stream of just-checking staff members, and received fast responses to call requests when we needed something. The food is nicer, too - not out of a can and made by actual food staff. There's a lot for residents to do - bingo, singing, movies, etc. This is a religiously affiliated place, meaning they have many Bible-related activities and occasional visits from the pastor. For the most part, it's not an issue. This facility is clean and there are a lot of comfortable places to sit with visitors and family. I really like the antiques scattered around and big squasy chairs. There are also puzzles, board games, vending machines, and TVs to help pass the time. They do charge 50 cents a day for TV usage and one dollar a day for the phone. The rooms are private - a HUGE plus - and you share the bathroom with the resident next door. The facility is all on one level, which is good for visitors who have trouble getting around, too. The staff here is LOVELY. I really like the physical therapists, the nurses, and the nurses' aides. We can't thank them enough for all that they've done. This place is down Monroe St./S Dixie highway near the Wendy's and Michigan Bar and Grill. Decent location for running errands nearby, and a safe area of town.
