Every time I'd ask a question, it seemed like they were annoyed and didn't want to give me an answer. I understand they're busy, but they should really respond to patients calls for help. They definitely promised me a few things that they weren't able to fulfill such as showers 2x/week and consistent therapy. Most of what they said was accurate, but not all. I felt they were understaffed and unable to monitor patients who entered my mom's room, taking her glasses and clothes.This was on the third floor and not the alzheimers unit where it would be more understandable. I felt the nurses, and other staff cared but were understaffed and overworked and it showed in the level of care they were able to provide. If you are going to have a loved one there be prepared to advocate to get their needs met. From my experience It appears as if the administration never put the patients first but is most concerned with the bottom dollar. I was advised on Friday at 4pm in a meeting with all my mom's therapists that that was the last day that Medicare was paying 100% and that starting the very next day she would have to pay a co-pay of $148.00/day. If we had known this sooner we could have been more prepared and able to make other arrangements. As it were we were blindsided and stressed by this important information being given to us with no notice. We had to wait until Monday to do anything about and then got hit with a large bill. I had to request an order for a walker (which other facilities automatically provide) and then the company they contract with sent one that was too big and too heavy. I had to return it and research online where to get the proper one for her. I felt that they dropped the ball and I had to pay the price monetarily and physically with the stress of scrambling to get things set up in a hurry. If you use this facility plan to stay on top of you loved one's care and financial obligations. If you experience problems like we did call the local ombudsman to get support. When I did they said other people had have some of the same issues so it's not just us.
