They would never do that! Their full attention is always on me.

Most of the nurses and all of the aides are wonderful, cheerful, and caring. The facility as a whole was a very big disappointment to me, when my mother was sent there with a broken rib after spending a few days in nearby Falmouth Hospital, which is owned by the same corporation.

The staff did not apparently have access to my mom's records from the hospital (which is right next door) so they had to be told, for 3 days, that she needed to be catheterized twice a day. If she hadn't insisted, and if we had not also confirmed it, they would have ignored this need.

Her room was so cold - in July, 2013 - that she couldn't sleep for a few nights. Eventually, she started going to bed with 2 woolen sweaters and 4 blankets.

She was put on a diet with restricted liquids because of low sodium in her system; the cause of this condition and the treatment plan, if there was one, were not explained to her.

When the facility decided to discharge her, there was no advance notice that a discharge meeting would be held at 4 PM on the Friday before she was to leave. Her occupational therapist arrived unannounced and started to explain to her what arrangements were to be made; my sister happened to be in the room and phoned me so I could dash over and participate. The OT had decided that mom did not need a hospital bed, although it was painful for her to get into and out of bed without raising the head of the bed. This led to us having to scramble to try to rent one of these ourselves, and made my mom very worried about going home.

This facility could be so good, and yet it was such a bad experience for us, that I really wonder why it can't be managed with a little more care for the patients.

My father stayed at JML and after two and half years we moved him out. It was ok. But today, I came online to find out what JML stood for. I know it stood for the wife of the man who donated the money to build JMC, Josiah Lilly. I had forgotten her name and I could find it no where on line. The Cape Cod Hospital, which runs it, didn't know her name. Finally I found the number directly to JML. I told her what I was looking for and the responses I got. She did know Josephine's name but when I told her it's disgraceful that the name of the people who donated a majority of the money to build the facility is not even on a web page...she didn't care. I would be suspect to send anyone there that treat's their creator in such a way!

The waiting area here is extremely spacious. There is never overcrowding and everything is spaced appropriately. Just as a side note, this business is really conveniently located and is close to everything. It is right off and freeway and close to all kinds of shops. I was able to do my shopping for the week right after my appointment. They've never used foul language, which has bothered me at some of the other places I've been too. They always make an extra effort to be polite and courteous. They definitely care about patient comfort because I was treated well and with respect the entire time I was a patient there for both my knee replacements. Director of social services is awesome!
