My dear friend is there now. The building needs maintence the call lights dont work and the blinds dont work and there is rust all over the deck. This place is under new management since all the past reviews in 2015.
The many items do not work.
The majority of the staff is friendly, however the care is not consistent. I believe they need better systems in place from upper managrment.
The nurses don't introduce themselves. They just barge in the room when they do show up.
My freind wasnt checked on and he was placed in the wheelchair and fell to the ground.
He is Hillcrest because he isnt strong enough to walk so why would you leave him in a wheelchair unattended for hours and not nesr a call light. The call light didnt work the first 3 days he was in Hillcrest and when I went to visit I found him in poopy mess. Almost falling of the bed. He said he pressed his call light over an hour ago and he couldnt hold it any longer. I pressed the call light and still nobody came.
I went out in the hallway to find someone to help, that is when we discovered the call light hadnt been working.
He was in a double room so the nurse switched the cords. The other light still isnt fixrd and my friend has been there 10 days.
Hillcrest was also being evaluated by the state and I heard from a few nurses it wasnt a good report.
I would give them an F to be completely honest. The staff is trying but they dont staff correctly. My friend had to go to the bathroom I told the nurses aid and she said he would just have to go in the bed becuase she was to busy.
I could go on and on about the horrible care.
But, it is exhausting and sad to think about.

If you don't mind waiting 45 min to have your call light answered....and your rehab consists of only the physical therapy staff....never ongoing by nursing staff throughout the day....and you don't mind that there is no continuity of care....no attention to following care plans then this is the place for you. My family member was on thick liquids due to swallowing issues and was given thin liquids 6 times in one day....by nursing with pills....by meal staff at all three meals...by the cna passing ice water...by pt staff...and by the social worker.....seriously....I felt like the principal having to watch everyone.

My 84 year old father was in short term care there following an illness. I can't say enough about the great care he received while at Hillcrest.
All of thestaff was professional and attentive, the food was good and the facility was spotless. The social worker there went out of her way to keep the family informed on my father's progress and make his transition back home go as smoothly as possible.
I highly recommend this facility.

My mother did not feel safe at all in their care. I definitely had doubts about their qualifications. I did not feel like I could count on them to work with me until they could find a solution for my mother's situation. They really made no effort to maintain a professional appearance. The halls smelled like urine and I was shocked at how many seemingly unqualified orderlies vs nurses were in attendance on the day I placed mom . I pulled my mother out after only 5 hours due to their inability to meet the needs of an end-stage emphasema patient!
