My mother was a resident there for 13 days. in that time she developed 2 open areas on her bottom. i took a picture of her bottom the day she left the hospital for the nursing home. it was pink but no open areas. She was put in a Geri chair and just left there. My daughter and I visited everyday at different times. We would find her soaked with urine and complaining that her butt hurt. It took forever to find someone to clean her up. Most times we would just do it ourselves. She ended up with 2 open areas on her bottom!!! I asked that he be turned every 2 hours while she was in bed, apparently that never happened.. I could tell they noticed I walked in, but they still didn't acknowledge me. They definitely didn't have enough staff members on hand. It seemed like one person was trying to do everything, and I ended up waiting for a very long time. They seemed stuck in the past. The facility was dirty and smelled of old urine. She fell twice in the 13 days she was there. In 13 days she lost 8 pounds. When I would get there in the AM she would be in the hall in her Geri chair with her breakfast in front of her.. Most times she was confused and needed assistance to eat. I don't believe that ever happened except when either my daughter or myself was there to help her. My daughter found her in bed without her oxygen machine in her room. (She had COPD and needed her oxygen). I believe that most of he staff didn't even know her name. We finally got her moved to our local hospital's nursing home unit where she passed away a few days later. This facility is not a place I would board my dog!!!

If you can, try NOT to have your loved one placed in this nursing home. They will receive the worst care possible. My grandmother was there for almost one year before we had her transferred (Thank God) The staff is nonexistent at best, and will yell at your loved ones. They would make my grandmother wait 45 min to be taken to the bathroom and sometimes she would sit in her own urine because noone came to get her. Upper management is unable or unwilling to help, even though we went to every quarterly meeting and repeatedly put in complaint forms DIRECTLY to the administrator. They don't care. We tried contacting the board of health/our local representative. They didn't care either. There is absolutely no accountability with ANY of the staff at this facility. Multiple times every week my grandmother would sit in her own excrement because the staff wasn't able to take her to the bathroom on time. She also received improper care, the nurses wouldn't change bandages unless we ASKED them to!! Facility is FILTHY as well and always smells of human waste. This is the worst nursing home in town. Do NOT put your loved ones in this home. Their staff was not friendly at all, I didn't feel welcome there.

I usually have to wait on hold for quite a while, but not as long as some other places

This has to be the worst nursing home in Plattsburgh!! My grandmother has been there less than ONE month and they countless times CAN NOT even take her to the bathroom in a reasonable amount of time! NY State needs to do a surprise visit to see what "care" is being given to these elderly residents! Most of the staff does not care and will WALK by residents who have clearly soiled themselves. It is extremely sad to see this happening and the only thing I know is I will NOT end up in an awful place like this!

Everything they told me in the beginning ended up turning out exactly the way they said it would. They were able to provide me everything they promised me. I've never doubted their abilities. Not only do they never postpone my appointment, they always try to get me in as soon as possible. I love that I can always get an appointment right away, and I never have to worry about them rescheduling it. Their prices were very fair. The level of care you get for the price is outstanding. The chairs in their waiting room were definitely above average. I was comfortable. They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered.
