My Mother went to Chapel Manor for rehabilitation upon discharge from the hospital. The first night the staff neglected to watch the oxygen tank which ran out and Mom had no oxygen for 6 hours causing her to go into respiratory distress and be sent to the ER...she's NEVER going back.

I am not going to refer my family and friends here. I just wasn't that impressed. I also do understand why the time of the employees is wasted by taking sick people out for a cigarette, especially people with heart issues. And I think employees that smoke need to be encouraged to quit.

Although my loved one was only there 2 1/2 days, I found it to be a horrible facility. For example, when I went to visit my mother, her right arm was extremely swollen. I noticed nothing was being done about it; as in, it should have been elevated on a pillow, something...to decrease the swelling. Luckily, I'm a former RN and knew enough what to do. I had asked the nurse there for a pillow and was told to get one myself from the empty bed next to my mom's bed!?!? I found no tissues anywhere for my mother and when asked for some, was told there were no boxes, yet there was one available right on the nurse's cart. Before leaving I inquired as to what they planned to do about her swollen arm and the nurse found nothing in the chart about it!?!?! How ANYONE could have NOT noticed her huge arm swelling is unreal! After I brought it to the nurse's attention, it prompted her to call the physician (well, she told me she would as I was preparing to leave for the night). I got a call about 4 hours later that my mom was being transferred to the hospital. They had done lab work and it came back abnormal, bad enough to require emergent care. I'm still wondering if anyone would have not only noticed, but done anything about it had I not addressed it myself??? Additionally, the place was dingy, appeared dirty, and the atmosphere was depressing. I can't think of another way to describe the place other than ugly and/or dreary. Not at all cheerful, uplifting, light or airy. I only saw 2 staff members on the wing...and many sick patients. They did not have any hand sanitzers anywhere and I had to wash my hands in the nurses station (they also were having an outbreak of a stomach virus and the flu at the facility) I didn't see my mom's nurse wash her hands before coming to assess her - BIG PROBLEM. Handwashing is crucial and 110% necessary in a health care facility!! Bottom line, I'd give them a 0 if I could. STAY AWAY, there are MUCH better places in that area!

CHAPEL MANOR is a DISGRACE! My Stepfather was put in here when he broke his shoulder because my Mother could not take cae of him due to healt problems. Well he was supposed to be in there for 12 weeks well that was a year ago. He got no exercise and now he cant get out of a wheel chair. They do not wash him he has stuff growing on his head like cradle cap its disgusting. But baby are they there to collect there money. He also supposlingly has a touch of Dementia but no doctor in the place will put it down in writing. He has a touch of Dementia so what did they do they got him to sign over all his money accounts to them. For the money they are paying he should be living like a KING! They have him in a room with 4 other men and he is never allowed out of his room. They put a alarm on his wheel so he cant get out of it. This place is not like what they say and show you. The food SUCKS! They show a chef preparing it, haha there is no chef. Stay away if you can.
