I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY! The staff, some friendly, some extremely not. They left my dad in the same clothes for days after days. I would either change him or go get one of the few that actually worked while at work to give him a shower. They would yell at my dad if he got out of his wheelchair to walk. It was much easier not to have him exercise any that way they did not have to mess with him. They took away his electric shaver and started dry shaving him, they called him sweetie and honey instead of his name.
My dad is not stupid and I caught one nurse trying to shove his meds down his throat. When reported, the comment was they shouldn't do that. hehe. That was the typical answer on all things. Yes I complained, monitored and threatened. When I made the decision to move him to another facility a lot farther away, (VA only one per county) someone posted it on facebook. Also, the admin office without any consent decided to transfer my dads social security check from his direct deposit to his bank to a trust account at the facility. He is a 100% disabled vet and they get all monies from the VA. There was absolutely no reason for them to even consider his SS check. I only found out because of the move when I closed out his petty cash check and got a lot more than was supposed to be there. This place needs to be closed but at least lose their VA contract. I have filed formal complaints to both state and VA
