I worked at the Asbury nursing home back in 1995 , there was an African American resident named Mr. Rollins , the racist nurse who was an LPN working on her R.N. would not empty his catheter so not sure if emptied on 1st shift or not but wasn't emptied on 2nd shift, nor 3rd shift & the urin backed up, Mr. Rollins died, the facility covered their tracks & provided an explanation for his passing that wasn't true. Mr. Rollins died because that racist nurse refused to emptied his urine bag & here we are in 2024 & I can't forget it.

My brother had terminal cancer and was placed in this facility for physical rehab (he lasted 5 months after discharge). The staff seemed overworked, truly unhappy, it took way too long to get a caretaker after being summoned. He had to have certain consistency foods and as his cognitive abilities declined he had to have pudding consistency foods and drinks. He wanted Pepsi with dinner but after I would buy him one and ask it be made into the proper consistency it would take a minimum of 45 min to have it made for him. The straw that broke the camel's back is when I came to visit him and there were houseflies on his body as he slept. This place is substandard, depressing and needs shut down by licensing authorities.

I have to say, there are a few CNAs that care, and a few nurses that care. Otherwise, I wouldn't advise my worst enemy to go to Asbury. The rooms were always gross, people would be on their call lights for 30-40 minutes before they got answered. If you want to be taken care of....I wouldn't recommend this facility. The equipment there is either old or broken. I never once saw the administrator actually talk to a patient in the hall. He is much more concerned with numbers. Hope this helps!

They never left me for an extended period of time and I never felt ignored. The office was easy enough to find. They listened closely to everything I was telling them, and showed a lot of attention to detail. I've never had to worry about them forgetting something or not reading my information correctly.
