Tried for 2 weeks to get a call back, then 2 more weeks for them to call with an available appointment only for the rude receptionist to say there was no appointments after 2. Very sad that a mental health office makes people wait and holds up time that can be spent finding a caring office that understands a patients needs and wants to help them.

I am a person who ALWAYS reads user submitted reviews before I go somewhere, even something as simple as even going out to eat at a fast food joint. Anyways, I always happen to see more negative then positive reviews, because unless the experience was something "life-changing" most people don't take the time out of their day to recognize a good, or even a great job. That being said, I wanted to review Wellness Therapy Center, specifically Shannon Rice at what a wonderful job she does with her clients.
I attended Wellness after a DUI I had gotten, It was not my first; but the circumstances which led to it really made me review my actions, my habits and my whole life in general. I realized (finally) that I have a problem with alcohol, going so far as to admit+accept the problem to myself (The hardest thing for me to do.) This time, I wanted to find someone that would be able to HELP me, instead of jumping through court hoops like the usual. During this time I wanted to get help for not only the alcohol abuse problem, but also for my social anxiety which had plagued me since grade school. I was referred to Shannon by a close family member who was worried about me, and so I picked up the phone to give her a call. From the bottom of my heart I am truly glad I went ahead and took responsibility for my life for once, and made the call to Shannon to talk to her about both of my issues, without feeling like I was being judged, looked down upon or ridiculed at any point. I have made multiple changes inside of myself to cope with anxiety, as me and Shannon worked with CBT therapy for my anxiety, and worked through steps of coping with alcohol addiction. I am so happy my life is finally turning around for the better, instead of slowly getting worse and worse. For anyone that REALLY has a problem with anxiety or alcohol, and you are READY to admit TO YOURSELF that you need help with it, I would hope you do yourself a favor and just give her a call. The impression I got from my time at Wellness was that Shannon cared for me and my progress, and that she was more concerned with me as a person then just another number who walked through her doors. I cannot express my gratitude enough for how wonderful Shannon was to me, and how grateful I am to be alive today. Even if this review changes one persons life and they decide to call her for an appointment I feel like taking my time to write this was worth it. Thank you so much Wellness for your help and I can finally say I look forward to my future. :)
