I have been seeing Dr. Vandenbelt for 15 years. He is an excellent psychiatrist, compassionate as to my mental health well-being, calls back promptly to emergency paging, and is extremely knowledgeable.

He barely answered any of my questions at all. I needed a whole lot more information. The staff was mostly friendly and professional. He didn't show attention to detail. He would tell me verbally how much medicine to take. He rarely wrote down how much I was to take while I was being titrated up on the dosage which is very important to do. When I made an error in the titration dosage (too much), he said, oh well, you are at the maximum dose which is more than I had planned for you, but you are there now . . . I was truly numb. With that comment, he had communicated that he cared little for my well being. He offered minimal education about the prescribed drug, no warnings about drug side effects, or its harsh withdrawal symptoms. After a year of treatment, I titrated down to stop the medicine; it took four years for the withdrawal effects to end. I would never go back to him.

Dr. Vandenbelt always makes sure every single question I have is answered. He is always available by phone and is very prompt in returning calls even when away from the office. The staff is professional and in spite of being very busy, always takes the time to listen to my issue and get resolution quickly. I am fortunate to be one of Dr. Vandenbelt's patients. As a result of his care for me, I am much more confident and successful in my various endeavors. I will absolutely return.Both Dr. Vandenbelt and his staff go above and beyond to ensure I have what I need to be healthy and move forward with confidence.
