I met the Dr. in the hospital with my last baby. I was impressed and planned to have him as my babies pediatrician. However, I lost his card and couldn't remember his name.
8 months later I received a collection letter. Apparently the hospital gave him the wrong insurance information. The hospital billed the correct insurance company so I'm not sure why they gave old/faulty info. I hadn't noticed the account had a problem as they stapled the note to the back of a bill. I barely glance at bills as insurance usually takes a while to pay and I've learned to just file them away.
Upon learning that the Dr. had the wrong insurance I tried to render the situation with the correct info. The office girl "who controls everything" was very rude and refused to deal with us. She said she had written it off and I had to talk to collections.
Come to find out once my insurance pays the contracted amount and I pay 20%. I still have to pay the BULLIES at collections (NAR) nearly 2x the amount owed. All this misery and taunting torture just because the office girl refused to take our money.
The Dr. was very nice and I am hoping he isn't on board with this crappy treatment of clients. I have insurance and I pay my part. I was very disturbed to be treated so horribly. I will never go to this office or recommend anyone else use their services. I've never had office folk treat me so bad when I was trying to give them money.
It was so awful that I plan to let everyone know how mean the office girl is and she is clearly in some type of wrongful agreement with the collection company. I am being bullied and having to pay 2x the amount.
