I saw Dr. O'Connell for a second opinion after my regular gynecologist told me I needed a hysterectomy and my insurance (Blue Cross) gave me his number. It was easy to schedule an appointment and his receptionist asked me to bring my records with me. When I arrived they got me in quickly; the office is in a beautiful new building and they just moved in when I saw him. Dr. O'Connell was very friendly and professional, and personable with a good sense of humor. He made me feel really comfortable. He reviewed my records and examined me, and after that he told me that I had options other than a hysterectomy. My husband and I were stressed because we probably don't want more kids but we're not totally sure and I was hoping to keep this option. Dr. O'Connell explained everything to me and told me he would send a letter to my original doctor, but my husband was more comfortable with Dr. O'Connell and so was I. Also, my doctor told me I'd have to have my surgery through my old c-section scar but Dr. O'Connell said he'd use a robot and a laser and remove my tumors through small incisions. We did my surgery in the beginning of the summer and I was out of the hospital in one day, driving in less than a week and enjoyed the rest of the summer with my daughter. We love Dr. O'Connell because he saved my options and saved me a lot of pain. The only bad news is that if we have anymore children we'll have to go to another doctor because Dr. O'Connell stopped delivering babies, but after that we'd definitely go back to him.
My whole experience at this office was above average starting with their very comfortable waiting room chairs. They were fantastic. Everything they told me in the beginning ended up turning out exactly the way they said it would. They were able to provide me everything they promised me. I've never doubted their abilities. Not only do they never postpone my appointment, they always try to get me in as soon as possible. I love that I can always get an appointment right away, and I never have to worry about them rescheduling it.
