The first time I went to Dr. Dalton, I didn't see Dr. Dalton. Someone else took his place, intern maybe, I don't know. I realize he has emergency surgery sometimes and that is a normal practice with doctors. I had a follow-up appointment scheduled at 11:15 AM today. I got there at 11:00 o'clock and signed in. After an hour of waiting and watching others go in and out I wondered if Dr. Dalton was even there. There are 4 doctors with this practice so maybe the others going in and out were patients of other doctors. I wanted to ask how much longer it would be but I didn't want to be rude. When I had knee surgery I'd have to wait up to 2 hours (different doctor)and finally asked how much longer it would be and the office girl got mad and told me rudely to sit back down and they'd get to me. So I didn't want a repeat of that at this office. Finally, when I was the only one left in the waiting room, the girl asked me who I was waiting for. I told her, "Dr. Dalton. I have been here almost an hour waiting." She asked my name and then said she had put me down as a "no show." I had never left the waiting room. There wasn't more than 5 people at any one time in that office waiting room while I was there. She couldn't at least look up and ask if there was a _______ ______ in the office before putting me on the "no show?" She said the doctor had others that had appointments after mine that were being seen (already in the exam rooms) and that Dr. Dalton would then be leaving for lunch and then surgery. I couldn't believe it. She didn't even apologize, she tried to make it my fault because I didn't go up and ask. What was the sign-in sheet for? I told her, "Then I'll just leave." and I did. It was obvious I wasn't getting in to be seen today. I'm getting a new doctor and I've never even seen this one. Pleasant, competent staff is as important to me as the doctor. What a waste of a morning and I even was out the parking fee.
