Neurologists have a deserved reputation for being somewhat cold, detached, uncaring, and overly intellectual. I've had neurologists who fit this stereotype and family and friends have as well. Dr. Koller is nothing like that. He is, of course, a brilliant man, but he always presents things in ways the average person can understand. He is an excellent diagnostician, but instead of just matter-of-factly telling you his conclusion, he also tells you why he arrived at that conclusion (again, in terms that are easy to understand). Some doctors, and especially neurologists, like to tell you what to do. Dr. Koller respects his patients and is much more collaborative when it comes to choosing a treatment plan. Above all else, he is a genuine, decent, caring individual. If only all neurologists could be like him because many times, if you are seeing a neurologist, it is a pretty serious matter. You want someone who is smart enough to figure out what is going on and what to do about it. You want someone who respects you and cares about your situation. You want someone who can help you understand exactly what you are facing. Dr. Koller is all of that and more. I can't imagine anyone who would not feel blessed being in his care.
