This Dr. attended my husband's 2007 spine surgery, at the closing of the skin when air was introduced into his circulation, resulting in low or no perfusion. But all involved personnel obfuscated for 2.5 years, at which time in deposition, Passannante gave us a reason for my husband's O.R. event: VAE. No records of TEE were available, to show air or no air. My husband wasn't flipped from prone in order to dislodge the embolism for 35 minutes; fluid resusitation caused severe metabolic condition. Many sequelae ensued. My husband can no longer work or think straight with cognitive and physical disabilities. I don't believe this Dr. caused the problem (another did), but I believe he knew what was happening and wouldn't tell me. 2.5 years later he said it was VAE, he "knew it on entering the O.R.", but he didn't tell us how. It had to be a cell-saver mistake, and I'm certain he knew it! My family's wrecked, and he could have immediately told us why, but didn't.
