I work in a medical office (13 years) and my aunt was treated (pro-bono) by Dr. Sawicki so I object to your other review! It is justified and not "manipulation" to bill for a diagnostic visit if the patient takes up extra time and asks for medical expertise on all was normal! An unethical MD could have pretended the rash was a fungus, prescribed some 'ointment' and then this mother would have been OK with a DIAGNOSIS visit! Obviously Dr. Sawicki is a (no nonsense) good doctor. If this mother had gotten a wrong 'Diagnosis' from some incompetent MD, I am sure she would be jumping to file a law suit.
We have a three weeks old son and seen this doctor (Elzbieta Sawicki) twice. Both those times it should be a WELL VISIT for which copay does not apply (as we found out later) However on the second visit office charged us $40.00 ($20.00 per each visit) explaining that both of those times were DIOGNOSIS visits. Difference is that for diagnosis visits they can collect copay versus WELL visit - NO copay. In both cases the medical law was manipulated so legally they can charge the extra money for copay. On the second visit we went with our baby (three weeks old) to check how is he growing and we showed to doctor a small heat rash around his neck, doctor said its normal, and later on we found out that its a diagnosis for which she collected copayment. This is our second baby and we never had any issues before with different pediatricians. We will definitely change the doctor and would never recommend this doctor to anyone.
