Dr. Sam Hershkowitz Brooklyn, NY, was my supervising therapist when I was a graduate student at NYU Psychoanalytic Institute He sat, with his shoes and socks off, very inappropriately eating, while he spoke, ostensibly supervising me, giving me a model for behavior, eyes wandering about the room. He nearly derailed my ambition to be a therapist, NEARLY. but he didn't. I went into therapy with a colleague of his who all but admitted that Sam was a loose cannon, a self serving narcissist. And I agree. That was my initial diagnosis. Think what you will of this review. It was my experience.

Dr. H helped me more than any other therapist I have ever encountered. He's smart and empathic. My ability to concentrate and function at work increased dramatically. My love life got better. Thank you so much!

I feel like he goes out of his way to accommodate my schedule. I always get the appointment time I want. he did a very thorough investigation of my medical history to make sure that I would receive the most beneficial treatment. I felt like hereally cared about me. he is completely committed to helping me as long as it takes to find the best solution. I never have to worry that he will back out or give up if a solution isn't reached immediately, which has been a problem for me at other places.

Just as a side note, I was very impressed with how conveniently located this business was and how close it was to other shopping centers. It was so easy to find, I didn't have any trouble at all. I’ve been to some other psychiatrists that really rushed my appointment, but he didn’t do that here at all. I was able to take as much time as I needed. Most importantly, Dr. Herschkowitz helped me but the road to feeling better was not easy.
