I can’t believe how my life has changed since the surgery Dr. Panos performed. I can sleep better and I have no trouble with my daily activities. Surgery led to a very speedy recovery. I should have listened to Dr. Panos and had the surgery sooner.
Dear Dr. Panos, This summer I decided since I retired and my knee and shoulder were constantly hurting and had been for quite some time that I would have them looked at. I Looked in the telephone book and called another office and made an appointment. My wife and I were not happy with the service of the Doctor. We were kept waiting for a couple of hours (after he starting discussing my situation) while other patients were being taken care of by the same Doctor. Consultations with his assistant/nurse about other patients were taking place and also making telephone calls. He would only discuss my knee and said that I would have to make separate appointment regarding my shoulder and couldn’t even speculate about that at this time. When we finally were ready to leave we were badgered into trying to make an appointment for the surgery immediately even thought I had made it perfectly clear that I wanted to think about it. After we left we discussed our meeting with our daughter-in law who is a nurse at Vassar Hospital and she recommended that we contact you as did my primary Doctor Mark Steenbergen. Our first meeting with you was super. You were professional, informative, reassuring and most of all caring….. And no pressure or interruptions. At the end of our brief consultation we made the appointment for you to do the surgery on my knee. You also advised me what was possibly bothering me with my shoulder. On September 4, 2008 you operated on my knee and within days I was feeling better that I have in years and painless. And at 70 years “young” it feels great. On December 4, 2008 you operated on my shoulder and again it has been only 2 weeks and I had only minor discomfort the first 3 days, no pain and after 2 weeks I can put my arm behind my back for the first time in years without having pain. I can’t thank you enough other than to say that you can feel free to use me as a reference anytime.
Again, I owe all of you a heart feel thank you for all you do and have done for me! Your personalities, professionalism, kindness and concern mean so much! I will continue to recommend you and your staff as the “best of the best.”
When I asked Scott Pietras, one of our staff members, how his shoulder was, he told me that you were great and that you made him feel like he, “was the only patient you had.” My husband, Tom, also felt the same way. You have a wonderful gift of immediately connecting with people. Scott told me that because of his interactions with you, he is going to work on improving his interactions with everyone – it’s contagious! Rich Goldmann, MD, also told me that he had reassigned one of the CRNA's to give her a break from you very busy OR room. She asked to please go back into your room because she and all of the OR staff members really enjoy working with you. Thank you for making a difference for our patients and their families, and for creating a very positive work environment for our staff.
My husband and I have been patients of your husband’s for quite a few years now. He has operated on my husband at least 5 times and I imagine he will be operating on me in the not-too-distant future. We wanted you to know how special we thank your husband is. He is unlike any other doctor we have had over the past 40 years. He is 21’st century “ Marcus Welby MD”. A doctor who truly cares about his patients and goes out of his way to make sure they get the best care and his “personal touch” which makes everyone feel special.
Since we realize how difficult it must be to be mannered to a doctor, especially one that cares so much about his patients, we just wanted you to know how much it means to us, in this day age, to have such a wonderful, caring doctor like your husband!
This letter is to express my gratitude for the excellent services provided to me by your staff during my hip replacement operation by Dr. Panos on October 14, 2008. All members on your staff were very understanding about my condition and were effective in guiding me through the proper ways to ensure my comfort under such trying conditions. You should be proud to have such knowledgeable and helpful people on your staff.
Thank you so much for all that you have done for me. Your overall manner, your knowledge and surgical precision have given me a new, enjoyable standard of living. Your expert skills with people and with a new life. But you have lightened family members who care about me. May God continue to grace you, your family and your practice.
