I heard about receptionist were so rude and bad handling situation even before I visit them but I also heard most of moms like the doctor even though they hate the staffs. There were two at the reception and one most of time seems ok - I just need some time to learn about her personality but the other one always rude and always looks angry and never smile to children at all. (I saw once she smiled when she gets a gift from one of parents). Anyhow, I pretty much ok w/ the office.
Only one issue I always have is when their office is closed for holiday or for lunch or for emergency etc. The message said always same that I called after the office hour even though I called during their normal business hours. I hope they fix this issue so I can decide to contact other doctor or call back Dr. Park the next day or something. Last time when Sandy hits the area the office was closed long time and same message ran. I can guess that they got flooded and lost electricity. I also called today for referral for other specialty dr appt on next week but the office was closed. I called @ 3pm and their normal hour today is 9-6. Maybe they closed early for Korean Holiday or emergency but what if they close for a week or something? It maybe little thing but it will be much better for parents if the office set up proper answering system.

I agree Dr. Thomas C Park is a great doctor, his approach is very professional. But his staffs(receptionists) are really impolite/rude. They never make the effort to eye contact, greet whoever comes in the office. The only reason I stayed with him for approximately 5years is because of his professional approach to my son regardless of intolerable staffs attitude. The visit I made recently, there was a discrepancy between what I was told in the office and what he wrote in regards of follow up visit. I asked if they can check with the doctor(I work as a nurse and I do know at times MDs do make mistake with there documentation), they looked at the chart and told me 'it says 10-15days as oppose to 5days'. When I asked again to have it checked, they told me to wait until the doctor is available. I told them I cannot wait, since the appointment was at 2:30pm and after all the long waiting time and being seen by the doctor, the time we were leaving the office was past 3:40pm , and if they can kindly check with the MD and call me back. She(receptionist) never called me back. When I spoke with other moms with this incident the majority of response I got was 'yes, they are like that.' I feel sorry that the doctor has to loose possible future or current patients just because of having 'no sense of kindness + rude'' staff.

though dr. parks office is small and only has one doctor. scheduling is made easy and when your child is ill they can always squeeze you in to see the doctor. we went through 5 pediatricians before finding dr. park and we loved him. (not like a teaching... practice.. where there are a bunch of people poking and probing your baby.) he takes his time to explain things and is not like those other offices where they take your child/baby screaming in the arms of strangers. all the exams taken place so far.. i was allowed to hold the baby. i love this office, don't mind waiting either. we drive and hour to see him and for us having a good doctor is worth every distance we have togo to give our baby care that makes us feel it's the right kind of care. dr.park isn't mushy... and doesnt do baby talk... and stuff like that.. but he knows what he's doing and has really good bedside manners. we went through so many doctors in the 1st 6months of the baby's life.. and when we finally met him he made sense and assuring that usually your instincts are right.
