I was a patient at Dr. Alayssami’s Vienna/Dunn Loring office. At every appointment they tried to sell me some expensive procedure that no other dentist I saw before or since ever even suggested. First it was adult braces. Then a deep cleaning. Then they insisted that my low gumline required a skin graft to restore my gums to the tune of $3,000 performed--of course--by their in-house periodontist. Other dentists either haven't mentioned my low gumline, or have just mentioned it as something to keep an eye on. If you visit Dr. Alayssami, I would recommend keeping an eye on your wallet.
Both of my children received braces in this office and I paid $6800.00 ($3400.00 each child). My insurance paid an additional $1500.00 each child. Both children followed the rules and their braces were removed early. Instead of receiving a refund since the actual cost of the braces were ~$3000.00 for each child, the office kept my money and sent my bill of $25.00 for one child and $130.00 for the other child to collections. They kept more than $3000.00 of our families money and smiled the whole time when they explained all of the things that were not listed on my contract as normal business practice.
