Still suffering with pain from the amount of bone left behind and working through my gums, also an area that won't close and received a new bill after paying in full upfront , they could not put my dentures in ,doc also informed me that he was not a dentist,i was appalled and was sent on my way.

My child's first dental experience was not what I expected at all. Dr. Goodove came highly recommended by another dentist in the area. The consultation was a 5 minute joke and we didn't meet Dr. Goodove until the day of my sons surgery. I truly feel that the office misrepresented the services/billing that were to be provided and misled us to believe that all we would pay was what we were given on the patient responsibility form. Knowing that the surgery would have to take place in a hospital setting, I was told that what I had paid would cover the cost. We paid over $800 and was told in writing that that would be the charge for the services. Well the "other" bills were far greater than what I could have ever imagined, to the tune of over $11,000 for 2 teeth extractions and a gum resection! After the insurance paid its portion, we were left with an additional expense of $1627! As a single parent of a special needs patient, I have become accustomed to dealing with surgical coordinators and know the appropriate questions to ask to make an informed decision regarding my child's care. I asked the questions, documented the answers and concluded that Dr. Goodove's office did not give me that information to make the best financial decision. They did however make sure their bill was paid by demanding upfront payment of their charges before surgery was performed which I couldn't understand until I received additional unexpected bills from other 3rd party providers weeks later! When I questioned the accuracy and why I was not informed that I would be billed for addition services, they simply apologized for the inconvenience and made an assurance that better communication/disclosure would be made in the future. To add insult to injury, the coordinator that I had been working with for weeks prior that was so accommodating and seemingly helpful, refused to call me back or take my calls. Well Dr. Goodove has totally lost a patient as well as my recommendation for other parents of children with special needs. Your practice is only as good as the people you have running or representing it! Think twice before taking your child here!
