It was disconcerting to see such dirty instruments trays, chairs and floors. There was a spot of some sort of yellow gel and a lot of dust on the instrument tray. The dental chair itself had dust/dirt on the arms and had a small spot of something that looked like blood on the seat. I grabbed a paper towel and tried to wipe it off but couldn't.
I had scheduled an emergency appointment because I was having some bonding that was coming off. I clearly told the appointment taker that I needed this work done on the day of the visit because I was flying out of town shortly. The appointment taker assured me that they would be able to do the work on the day of the appointment. After arriving 15 minutes early, I waited an hour past appointment time before x-rays were performed. I was then seated in a dental chair that can only be described as filthy.
By the time the dentist came in to examine me, I was informed that the appointment taker had not scheduled any time for the procedure I actually needed. My insurance company is being charged for x-rays and a consultation that I did not need. The bonding I made the appointment for was not performed as was my expectation when I made the appointment.
Although these things are frustrating, the real problem was the general lack of cleanliness. I was actually relieved not to have any work performed there. It seemed un-hygienic and I wondered how clean their instruments were given the dirty condition of the dental chair, instrument tray, even the floors.
