Both my husband and I recently went there for xrays and cleanings. Now, I had not been in over 6 years so I knew I was facing a deep cleaning, which was fine. My husband had not been in 2 years so figured a deep cleaning as well. That is ALL that we asked for while making the appts. My cleaning was to be done in 2 sessions, which again I figured on. After showing me my that my bill was over $400.00, I needed to pay $50.00 the 1st day and $40.00 the 2nd day. I paid the $50.00 on the first visit. The 2nd visit the amount owed was $90.00 with NO explanation as to why it had increased (other than well she gave you fluoride . Yes, they DO add little things in as they go which costs you money but they do NOT tell you that they are optional or how much they cost. She gave me fluoride as well as a mouthwash without letting me know the cost of either or even ASK if I wanted these.
Just got the claim form from my insurance. They submitted the claim for $737.00!!! For a deep cleaning and xrays? OUTRAGEOUS not to mention $300.00 more than their estimate was!
Now on to my husband. He had the deep cleaning and xrays the same as myself. He was told that the deep cleaning would need to be on 4-6 teeth only. He was never given a bill and they asked for his credit card while he was being treated. He paid his portion of $55.00 charged to our card. The claim they submitted?...are you sitting down?? $2034.00!!!! The office duplicated the claim, which the insurance company picked up on so the actual claim was $1017.00!! FOR A MINIMAL DEEP CLEANING AND XRAYS! The insurance company allowed only $384.00!
Supposedly before we went in they had checked with our insurance on what was covered and what we needed to pay out of pocket.
As I m writing this review, I am waiting for the office to open so that this can be cleared up. What I did notice is that they have an over abundance of office personal, who were doing nothing but chit chatting on the 2 occasions I was there. Perhaps that is more what we paid for than actual dental work.
We both have the work up for the treatments they suggested. Huge cost, more than twice than the dentist we had prior to moving here. I will do what the other poster suggested and take to his dentist.
One thing I know for sure.....we will NOT be going back to Creative (yet costly) Smiles!

I would not recommend this dentist to anyone! I went in for a cleaning and after being there for 2 hours bored out of my mind. I was handed a care plan that would cost over $10,000 after insurance! My cleaning alone would have cost $4000! I went to Snodgrass King (which is where I take my children) and had an exam done there. Not only was it a fraction of the cost I found out that Creative Smiles was trying to add things onto my procedure that I did not need.such as antibiotics (that cost $118 per tooth!!) and a root canal! The staff at Snodgrass King were in shock when I showed them the care plan that I received from Creative Smiles. It amazes me what some Doctors will do to make a buck!
