I've always been afraid of going to the dentist and I waited until I couldn't take the pain any longer to find a new dentist. I looked in the yellow pages and found Dr. Shuster who saw me the same day. I told him about my anxiety and he worked with me to get through the root canal and out of pain as fast and as gentle as possible. I haven't had a problem with that tooth and its been 3 years. I was so impressed with his professional behavior and knowledge that I have been going back ever since. I tried several dentists before Dr. Shuster and have never been so happy with my dentist. His staff is friendly, the receptionist is welcoming and I have never waited longer than 5 minutes to be seated (which is big for me). I also never heard of the confirmation/cancellation policy the other review talked about. I receive confirmation calls for every visit and go to the appointments which are NOT automatically cancelled. I would recommend Dr. Shuster to anyone, he's a great dentist
Incredibly unhappy with the business practices of this office. They will call you to "confirm" an appointment but state that they will cancel the appointment if they do not hear back from you to "confirm". I thought this was an odd practice from the beginning, and now it has revealed some ugly aspects to this practice.
My husband did not call after receiving such a message, and subsequently did not show up for his appointment as he knew that it would be canceled and he would reschedule. Months later I did the same thing, however it is worth noting that when I called to make the appointment the person who answered the phone acted like they did not have me in their records. Asking things like--"Are you sure you've been here before?", put me on hold, and then took my name (no phone number) and gave me an appointment. When they called the day before my appointment, they didn't call my cell phone number, they called my husband's phone. About 2 weeks later we receive a bill for $50 EACH for these "no show" appointments. (note: that is about 2.5 months AFTER his appointment, we received his charge!)
This is serious matter of miscommunication and questionable professional business practice. When my husband called to discuss this matter with them, he was interrupted constantly by a woman named Sophia (I believe its spelled differently), then she hung up on him. He called back and Dr. Schuster answered. First he refused to send us a copy of the Original bill for my husband's charge (not the bill with the added-on charge about 2.5 months later), told us he would take us to collections, and then hung up on him again.
I am local resident in this area and honestly am less upset about being charged fees than how the office and the doctor himself handled in this situation. (And who knows if they even have my dental records from a previous visit).
If you are considering this dentist, just think twice about the business practices and quality of customer service you are getting for your hard earned money and how they might try to "trick" you into charging you for fees after leaving misleading messages on your voicemail.
