Dr. Luttrell has attended to me during two pregnancies within the last two years. During my first pregnancy in 2012, Dr. Luttrell performed a procedure on me in the offices of TLC. Honestly, it was the first time I'd had it done, and if I would have known then what I know now, I would have kicked her off her chair and stormed out. She was very short with me during the whole experience, even knocking my leg out of the way rather than asking me to spread wider. Also, it hurt so bad that I almost couldn't stand it, and I spent the rest of the day bleeding and cramping horribly, during my second trimester no less, which was a quite upsetting and concerning. I had the procedure repeated several times over the next year, and I didn't feel a thing. I don't know what she was doing wrong, but I'd just about say she needs to go back to medical school. Or even better, find work in a different field.

Earlier this year, I found out that my second child had died only a couple of days before he was supposed to be born. I was sent home with him still inside me, I suppose, so that I could digest what had happened. I went into labor the next day and ended up delivering shortly thereafter. Dr. Luttrell was the attending doctor later on that night after I had rested. Once I woke up, I was absolutely grief stricken and simply wanted to go home and spend time with my husband and son. Dr. Luttrell refused to discharge me, which I can understand, but once I stood up for my rights as a patient and asked to be released AMA (against medical advice), she was notified and came to my room. Her tone was hostile immediately , almost as if she blamed me for the loss of my child. I tried to explain to her that I didn't want to be in that hospital without the baby I had expected to have...that it was simply too much for me. I was willing to take my chances with my health, and I understood that she couldn't okay that. She snapped back that she wouldn't be prescribing any medication for me as though I were drug seeking and somehow that might sway me to stay. I told her that I'd rough it with some Advil, and that TLC had done quite enough insurance gouging for now. And, due to her tone, I too became hostile. We argued for several minutes (at this point, all I wanted was for her to go away) and she acted like some catty teenager the whole time displaying a total lack of sympathy or caring, instead of the professional she is supposed to be. Eventually, she stormed out of my room like a petulant child and I signed myself out.

I do plan to have more children within the next couple of years. What is so horrible is that all the OBs in this area want to pile up into one office (eliminating the choice for women in this area, which ought to be illegal), so I suppose I will have to return to TLC once again. I don't care what the circumstances are when I go into labor. Dr. Luttrell will NOT attend to me OR my child under any circumstances, nor will she treat me when I go to TLC. Just skip this doctor, she obviously has issues and simply doesn't know how to conduct herself in a professional manner. I honestly believe she needs to have her license revoked, especially considering the other reviews I've found about her online recently. Save your time, there are several amazing doctors there. Look around and educate yourself on each of them.
