Please keep in mind that I was 26 years old...

First surgery - TLIF L4-L-5/L5-S1 fusion. Medical records from that surgery claim I experienced “complete symptom relief” which is “complete systemic bullshit”.

Four weeks later, follow up X-ray. The Coflex clamps he’s so fond of (which at that time were considered INVESTIGATIONAL devices by the FDA, which I was NOT informed of) were not affixed correctly and bone graft material he placed had migrated to the point that they were strongly pressing on my spinal cord. Emergency surgery was required (though my medical records state that this surgery was “elective”). During THIS surgery, he “accidentally” fractured my spinous process. I have NEVER experienced such pain before. When he was finished he went to the waiting room to tell my parents how the surgery went. He told them he “accidentally nipped my spinal cord” resulting in a CSF leak. He damaged my spine, spinal cord, vertebrae, ligament, muscles, intervertebral space, and considerably weakened my spinal stability - permanently.

I went to George Washington University Hospital to see a fusion revision specialist - who was a magician. After the revision surgery at GW (surgery #3), my doctor there said my vertebra, intervertebral spaces, spinous processes, ligaments, etc. were a complete train wreck. It took THREE HOURS for him to reverse the damage “Doctor” Yalamanchili (Yalamanshitty) had done. Bone fragments, spinal cord lacerations, excessive bone grafting material, improperly aligned bone, you name it.

Do NOT place your life in this douchebag’s hands. Feel free to look up all of his medical malpractice lawsuits via the Maryland Judiciary Case Search website.

My wife was not diagnosed properly from years ago when she started with this man for her hip pain. Finally now he can see what’s wrong and she needs surgery on the spine to relieve pressure on the nerves that were pinched. My wife started in about mid April with the surgery set up from then to be done on 6-20-13. On 6-13-13 my wife gets a call from his office personnel that she owes $700.00 now and if she doesn’t pay it the surgery would be canceled. My wife asked for a bill so she could see what was owed and for what but was told she just needed to pay her bill or they were canceling the surgery. I called to speak to the manager and was told the manager wasn’t in so I asked who the manager was and was told by that person “what part of the manager is not in do you not understand”. I again asked for the managers name and was told I needed to pay my bill or they would cancel surgery which had nothing to do with the managers name that was asked for. I finally did get the doctor to call me back after repeated requests and the doctor told the same thing and it was a demand not a request but when asked again what the 700 dollars was for he gave no answer and when asked for a bill he refused to send one. I explained what we were told by his staff and how rude they were and demanding money and his statement was “I am only the doctor I cannot control everything that goes on in my office”.

After this we called in on Monday 6-17-13 to see what we owed and pay the bill so in 3 days we would go to surgery. At that point I was told the staff could no longer talk to us per the doctor’s instructions. I asked if the surgery was still on and was told again that no one could speak to us that a letter was sent that morning and we had to wait to see what it said. Late in the day on the 18th after calling his office a few times with no response and no letter we still had no idea what the hell he was doing. I faxed him a letter and asked to know if my wife’s surgery was still on for the 20th this being late in the day on the 18th. We were faxed a letter with his statement of no longer being my wife’s provider and that surgery was cancelled this just less than 40 hours away from operation time. This doctor is nothing more than a money man and I will never trust a dollar man to operate on my wife’s spine or mine. As far as I am concerned I will never return here and the Physicians Board and the Insurance company were just appalled at his behavior and are looking into taking action..
