By far the worst experience I've ever had with a dentist and the worst situation possible.. Please save your time and go with a dentist that actually cares about you, won't lie about your diagnosis, and then leave you to pay for the bill that insurance won't cover. In my case, he lied about what I had and my insurance medical dept(dental consult and licensed dentist) reviewed all evidence that proves I never had periodontis or anything wrong in the first place. I now have a large bill that insurance won't pay for. A treatment that was not necessary therefore no benefits are available. Now, he is suing me because I haven't and refuse to pay a bill for which they said "It'll be covered and we'll bill your insurance" . I never expected it to come back to me since according to the office, it was "medically necessary". So please be careful and make sure your insurance will pay for treatments that are actually needed.

I have been coming to Associated Dentists of NW Indiana for over 12 years and have never had a bad experience. All the doctors and staff are kind and helpful!

Dr. Kmak at Associated Dentists of NW Indiana did a terrible job on my crown, caused my a ton of pain, and generally was the worst dental/medical experience I've ever had. Here's the audit trail of events and an attached picture of their handiwork.

12/15/2015 - NW Dentist - initial visit - Dr. Kmak only looked in mouth for approx 20 seconds.

12/29/2015 - Crown prep, over 30 minutes late seeing me, felt ton of pain, only worked for five minutes or slightly less, left assistant to do bite check and sealant around temp. crown

12/30/2015, 8:30am approx - called in first part of day to complain about swelling mouth from sealant on my gums and get appointment scheduled.

12/30/2015, 12:50pm approx - mouth getting worse, called to see if they could see me any earlier at any time as swelling and pain was increasing; was told dentist not available, asked to see anyone, told no dentists were available all were gone on vacation, go to ER if needed

01/05/2016 - Dr. Kmak (dentist) at NW Dentist to get broken temporary fixed. He looked at it. I had to prod him with the fact that my four-day holiday weekend was spent in pain before I got a mumbled "sorry" and no further accountability taken. He left room after approximately 20-30 second exam and left assistant to re-seal tooth.

01/05/2016 - spoke with office manager at NW Dental about my concern. She offered to have me see a different dentist; I said no. She negociated $150 write-off on my remaining fees.

In effect I spent approximately $800 to feel a ton of pain, be treated poorly, and walk away to another dentist (who is awesome!). I did get the crown to take with me and it fit. And the tooth preparation was good enough for me new dentist.

So, visit this office after making your own assessment, but there is a better place out there.

They were so nice and professional and even called me to remind me about my upcoming appointment. The restrooms were very well-stocked at this provider's office. They always have toilet seat covers, paper towels and toilet paper and never run out. It is impossible to get an appointment at their office when there is an emergency or like when the temporary crown came off and I needed to get in so it could be put back on. Their answering service is not good and the office staff doesn't return phone calls nor do they give the dentists phone messages. They have some of the cleanest dental equipment I have ever seen. They make an extra effort to make sure they only use the best for their patients. They didn't give me any information about how much my procedure would cost before they scheduled it. I knew I would have to pay a certain amount for the crown, I had to before with the others that's no problem, but the office staff were totally clueless about how much my part was. The former staff was great and knew exactly what they were doing and how much co-pays were. It felt like they were just trying to get it over with so I would have to pay for it before really considering it. The office staff tries to do as little as possible. I wish the owners hadn't changed so Matilda and the other office staff ladies were still there...they were WONDERFUL!!
