I am new to the Ruston area and made an appointment with Dr. Anders for an annual exam. Dr. Anders seemed pretty nice and caring, but when I told him about my past medical history, he brushed off my previous doctor (in my previous town) as a quack (I respected him quite a bit and thought he helped me manage my symptoms quite well). I have endometriosis, and while I told him that the Pill was keeping it manageable, he said that I needed a series of Lupron injections, telling me that they would likely be very expensive and may not be covered by my insurance. He told me that the injections were harmless, with the exception of some pre-menopausal-like symptoms (I'm in my late 20's). When I came home to do some research, I found out that the FDA label for the injection states that *98%* of women suffer adverse side effects from the shot, some of which are extremely serious. The medicine seems to be highly controversial. I think he should have at least mentioned some of these. Just another reason why it's so important to do your own homework, I guess...

This doctor was on call while I was in labor. He denied me informed consent and put my baby at risk for performing medical interventions that were unnecessary and against my wishes. C-section happy-stay away!
