This is a very well organized company and business. The dentists are extremely nice and friendly here and do great work. I would definitely recommend people to attend this place for crucial dental needs. In addition all the dentists and dental assistants have worked very hard and were happy to help and answer any questions or concerns I previously had.

My local dentist referred me to this group for a root canal. I was in terrible pain, and as the other review said, I was given a first appointment which cost allot of money, only to look at a brochure about the procedure. 2 weeks later I was scheduled. This tooth has been sensitive since the root canel was done, I assumed this was normal....come to find out the tooth was cracked due to the root canal, and the "Dental Specialist" only comment was "you were explained this was a possibility"....now after hundreds of dollars paid and continued pain, the only thing I can do is pull the tooth. This was a horrible experience, and I will not return to this group!!!

I couldn't agree more with the last comment. I read the reviews before going to these guys and should of known better. I needed a root canal, went to my regular dentist who gave me a referal. He supplied me with xrays and I went over the same day. Instead of doing the procedure the dentist gave me some stupid explanation of what a root canal was, even thought I've had four before. They told me they couldn't get me in to do the procedure for three weeks, even though I'm in extreme pain. This inital consultation is a crock and just an attempt to get money out of the insurance company. My insurance company paid 120 dollars for this. Give me a break. I normally don't rate anybody but I felt in this case it need to.

What a fabulous experience I had at McHenry Dental. My dentist referred me for a root canal on one of my molar teeth cuz he said it was more than he could handle. I called the office and spoke with Brittany to schedule my appointment. She took all my information, including my insurance and scheduled my visit. After that, it was SO easy. They called my insurance for me, found out how much they covered then called me to let me know that amount and how much I should owe if the insurance paid like they were supposed to. (they did by the way - YES!) Then I received another call the day before my appointment reminding me of the time and fortunately confirmed I knew where the office was....I say fortunately because where I was envisioning it was not where it was located! It ended up that it was closer to me than I thought. Anyway when I got to the office everyone was very nice and Dr Eskoz explained everything about the root canal very thoroughly. I thought it was nice that he took so much time. Most of the time when I go to the doctor I feel like they rush in and out but he actually sat down with me and made sure I understood what was going on. Anyway, this is getting very long so I'll close it up.....the experience was great. Receptionists were really nice, the dental assistant was very knowledgable and even called me the day after my root canal to see how I was doing, the doc did a great job, my tooth didn't hurt anymore and my dentist was glad he was able to do the root canal cuz it saved my tooth. A root canal is not something that anyone would look forward to but they made it so easy (& painless) that I would highly recommend this office. Jerry

Was referred to Dr. Eskoz by my dentist for an "Emergency Appointment" because of a toothache. My dentist even printed the xray and gave it to me to take to Dr. Eskoz, telling me I needed a root canal.
The appointment was at 4:00 PM. When I walked in there was a waiting room full of people, some of them in obvioius pain. One pregant woman was even crying in so much pain.
When I was called for my appointment, they took an exray, even though I had one in my hand. They told me it wasn't the same kind as my Dentist took. When they hung it on the light board it look exactly the same.
Then Dr Eskoz comes in, looks at the xray and says "yep, you need a root canal". No Duh!!!!! He then goes on to read from a generic paper brochure discribing the Root Canal proceedure, even though I had already told him that I have had two in past. Then discussion on the cost, which was about $200 more than average but when you're in pain who cares.. What upset me is that I had to wait a week for the actual appointment! This was just a consultation, which was manditory I was told. He charges $120 for the "consultation" and $26 for the xray. This is a scam. Just another way to make more money. I said "are you kidding? I'm in severe pain and I drive all the way here so you can charge me more than a medical dr. and read from a brochure???"
They will not actually treat you on your first visit.
When I was leaving, there were several other people verbally upset in the waiting room and even the husband of the pregnant woman looking like he was going to get violent.

Beware of the consultation!!!! Scam to get more money. In case you're wondering, insurnace covers less than 50% of the "Consultation by Specialist"!!
Went to another Endodontist the next day and had the proceedure done immediately! If you're in pain, avoid this one!
