I had two appointments with Dr. Farber approximately 6 months apart. I was and am still having issues with double vision and shadow images. At the first examination he suggested new glasses although he stated that my prescription/vision "had not really changed that much" compared to my current glasses. I declined to purchase glasses from him. My current glasses were approximately 14 months old, purchased from a different, unassociated doctor. At the next examination Dr. Farber once again suggested new glasses. I was very reluctant because I did not think new glasses would correct the double vision or shadow images. I asked Dr. Farber that if I purchased glasses from him and I did not see any better could I get my money back and he replied yes. I assumed that, as a purported professional, he would stand by his word. I wore the Dr. Farber glasses for three weeks to allow ample time to adjust to said glasses. I did not notice any improvement from my previous glasses. I went to Dr. Farber to return the glasses. Dr. Farber's staff examined me in the "new" glasses and my "old" glasses with no discernable difference. I was then told there would be a $75.00 to $100.00 restocking fee. I said that was unacceptable, especially since Dr. Farber did not tell me that when he convinced me to try his glasses. Had he told me that I would never have bought new glasses. Dr. Farber then examined me in my "new" and "old" glasses and told me I could get a refund with a $75.00 to $100.00 restocking fee. I once again said that was unacceptable. I told him I felt he misled me by not disclosing restocking fees when I asked if I could get my money back as I would not have bought new glasses. Dr. Farber then became very angry and rude, threatening to call the police to have me removed from his office. I have NEVER seen someone who calls themselves a professional act in such an unprofessional manner. Dr. Farber's staff also became very rude and unprofessional. I left the office without a refund.
A star is to much to give to Dr. Farber! He did surgery on my moms eye and totally screwed it up! Then after a month of telling her it just takes time to heal (the whole time her vision is blurry & doubled and worse then before the surgery) he finally tells her that the lens has moved and she needs to go to cornea specialist to do another surgery (to fix what he screwed up) they were suppose to find her a doctor in to out of town who would do the the surgery and they have never called. If it was not for her calling them to see what was going on, she would not know anything. They say they will call and never do.
Doctor Farber himself is only with you for less then 5 mins. I really hope his staff gets paid alot, because they are the ones that do all the work.
If you want to see right the first time, then don't go to Dr.Farber!! My mom is so sorry she did. Its been over a month an the problem has not been corrected yet. She had a second opinion with another dr. who pretty much said, that this problem was pretty much done at the time of the surgery. We will be looking into this, it would be wrong to let him get away with this. And I work for a attorney.
he had me on his table twice for the same problem. then he did laser surgery (for a related problem. now he wants me back on the table for the 3rd time(4th over all) for the same problem. also he thinks i must be def. he engauges in banter with coleagues unrelated to my procedure. also the plastic lense fell down into the bottom of my eye and he sees n problem for now. duh! due to money problems i have no choice but use him and he milks my insurance for all its worth.
