Been going to Dr. Berenson for 20 years. Best Doctor around. Always treats me like a family member. I have referred so many friends to him and always get thank-you for the recommendation. Very good diagnostician. His staff is amazing. Greets everyone like they know you forever. Rare to find this now a days. Stays up to date on everything and instead of always being referred everywhere, he treats you and does what is needed without lots of unnecessary testing. I really enjoy speaking with him when I go.

I wanted a family doctor when I moved to Florida in 1979 with four small children. This doctor treated me and my children for over 29 years through my children, grandchildren and the death of my husband. He always said that whether I could afford him or not he would always be there for me. Imagine my surprise when I finally was in dire need, could only make payments for service and ended up needing a quadruple bypass he sent his assistant in to tell me he could no longer treat me. I have never felt so betrayed in my life.

Dr Berenson is a very good diagnostician and seems to get right to the meat of the problem. His office really needs an updating but am always taken on time and treated well. One problem is that he does NOT go to the hospital and has another physician (not from his practice), see them. This is a major drawback...

Excellent service when I get to see Dr Berenson, just good when you see his assistant. Office is friendly. Sometimes have problems getting prescription reauthorization. I take one for gout prevention and sometimes I don't get it reauthorized unless I call the doctor myself.
Other than that good doctor never pushes unneeded prescriptions like doctors I have had in the past.

I am taking my business elsewhere. Dr. Berenson seems to only want to prescribe antibiotics for any and all illnesses. I really do not feel he listens to my symptoms resulting in inadequate care for my problems. His staff is not knowledgeable and I am always concerned with seeing the PA, yet Dr. Berenson is often not available to answer questions.

Dr. Berenson is an awful doctor. I am surprised he is still in practice since his care is so sub-standard. He will not speak to my family members despite my giving him permission to do so which make my medical care more difficult since I am elderly and rely on my son and daughter-in-law to help be my advocate with my doctors. He also is very hard to see and often you have to schedule an appointment with his PA first and then see the doctor the next week. Nice way to double your billings for no additional value. WHY DO YOU HAVE A PA, DR. B, IF YOU DO NOT ALLOW HER TO PROVIDE CARE TO YOUR PATIENTS WITHOUT YOUR INVOLVEMENT (Oh yeah, you would not be able to double bill)? Dr. Berenson is also not willing to give me a prescription / lab slip for blood work and insists that this work be done in his office which allows him to increase his billing at my expense since my bloodwork is free if done at the correct facility. At his office, I am forced to copay for an office visit and bloodwork, Dr. Berenson also seems to order tests more frequently than necessary (cholesterol) and is insistent that we follow his orders which fattens his wallet again at the expense of a fixed income patient. Dr. Berenson is rude and does not seem to place the patient's care at the fore front. He often seems to misdiagnose or ignore indicators of problems in his haste to see more patients. It seems to be all about the money, not the patient. After many years of service with Dr. B, I am taking my business elsewhere and I am sure I can find a better doctor who does not seem to have his hand so tightly wrapped around my wallet while providing inadequate care and questionable billing practices.
