I saw Dr Strain yesterday and I was extremely pleased. Of course, I had to wait a little while but I consider that a testimony to his being in demand for his exceptional knowledge and skills. He was attentive, answered my questions and treated my knee and I am now able to bear my weight without the pain I had been experiencing. I recommend him highly.
Dr. Strain seen twice with no results. After over an hour and half wait on both visits he comes in in a rush gives a two minute overview and walks out starting he cannot prescribe meds. I have spinal stenosis arthritis and other major back issues that resumed in 2 surgeries. He said i Have arthritis and wouldn't even prescribe my arthritis meds. .He's not worth the insurance, co-pays neither my time. Stay away!!
I've seen Dr. Strain twice. Both times I had difficulty getting appointment times because his hours are limited to only Mondays and Tuesdays until 1:30. I waited over 45 minutes to see him in a freezing cold room. My other two doctors said I had a torn meniscus. He quickly called my other urgent care doctors "docs in a box" and implied they didn't know what they were doing. He has an extremely large ego which is apparent after 3 minutes although he's friendly enough. He gave me some ambiguous diagnosis after barely looking at my MRI and wrote "knee pain." I knew I had knee pain because it was swollen and bruised from my fall. Duh!!!
This doc gave a poor diagnosis probably due to me being a workmans comp patient. Stay away from this doctor if you want to get an accurate diagnosis and good treatment for your injury. He didn't seem to have my recovery as a priority even after I told him my knee still hurts and is swollen 2 months later. He gave me nice instructions about icing it as if I hadn't been doing just that for the past 60 days. I could'= have saved the trip and diagnosed myself. Stay away from Dr. Richard Strain if you enjoy using both of your legs.
This doctor made me feel like a total idiot. I went to see him for a back injury and all he did was lecture me about how herniated discs don't cause pain and that I was imagining the whole thing. When I advised him that I had previously seen anothe doctor for this problem he asked me who I saw and then proceded to belittle my other doctor. I was there for workman's comp so that may be why I was brushed aside like garbage. They didn't help me as much as I was hoping and didn't answer all my questions. I was a little disappointed at how helpful the staff was when I called with my questions and concerns. They definitely could have been more polite. The staff really knows what they're doing, and they know a lot about the company they work for. They're able to answer most of my questions, and the only ones they don't are the ones they need their boss's approval for. I wasn't greeted at all when I walked in the door. No one seemed to notice or care that I was there. They made sure that their qualifications were obvious. I was confident that I was under the care of a professional.
