I'm sorry if the following is a bit lengthy, but I have to explain the details...
I had not gone to a dentist office in about 9 yrs. YES! That is 9 yrs! The reason was because the last few dentists that I had gone to were not that great. The office wasn't clean, they weren't gentle, and I was able to feel everything they were doing even with the novacain.
I worked up the courage to walk into this office when I had to take my son to the Hoag Center next to it. I knew I needed to get my teeth worked on so I decided to give it another chance. The staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The office was very clean and organized and they have a nice salt water aquarium. I set up my appointment for xrays (Obviously no pain involved). Then I set up my appointment for a deep cleaning. I also needed a root canal done.
I went in for my appointment for the deep cleaning yesterday, 9/29/09, and it turned out that I was getting my root canal done too. I was nervous due to my previous experiences with other offices, however, Dr. Nguyen was very good. This office is operated by husband and wife. I was treated by Mr. Nguyen. I was expecting to get novacain for the deep cleaning but he did not use any. Didn't need to apparently. I didn't feel any discomfort at all! He did end up using novacain, only because of the tooth that I needed the root canal on. It was a bit sensitive. Once he finished the deep cleaning, he started with the root canal. I didn't feel a thing. I even kept my eyes open during the procedure (Trust me, if you knew how bad I get when it comes to Doctors and Dentists, you'd know this is a HUGE step for me).
Today, I'm back at work with no pain or discomfort. I still need to go back to get the crown on that tooth that I had the root canal done on. Once I'm done with that, I'll be set for another six months.
My experience with Dr. Nguyen was excellent. I have already reffered a few of my friends to his office and I will also be bringing in my wife as well.
For anyone that is looking to go to a dentist's office but is holding back due any fears, I highly recommend Aqua Dental. Aside from the great service they provide, they also work with you with any out of pocket expense you may have to endure. I highly recommend them, and remember that this is coming from someone that avoided the dentist for 9 yrs. I am now looking forward to get my crown done so that I may have my teeth nice and healthy... And white too! Almost forgot to mention that they offer free teeth whitening to all new patients.
