The dentist was friendly and accommodating.

However, the front office staff seemed more interested in their breaks and lunches rather than helping me. I had scheduled my first appointment with them several weeks in advance and when I got to the office, they said that "Our equipment was down" and that they had left me a message on my voicemail. I had left the house before I got the message. At first they said that their equipment was down, but after some conversation, magically, the equipment they needed to help me was working, so somebody was lying to me about what was really going on.

I am a disabled person and qualify for a special program that pays for my dental work. I did not have the paperwork with me when I arrived, and the front office staff demanded that I have it before they would help me. So, I offered to call my mother and doctors office who had the documents they require and have the paperwork faxed to them. After a little resistance, they agreed.

While going through all this I heard one of the office staff make a nasty comment about me personally when I could hear what she said !!! This was totally unprofessional and in my opinion, inexcusable. If it was up to me, that person would have been written up or fired.

The dentist was fine, but the attitude of the front office staff is very disappointing and makes it hard to communicate. They are not very friendly and welcoming when you walk in the door.

If I had any other place to go I would............ VERY disappointing.

I wasn't worried about their equipment. It was safe and well taken care of. I was really hoping that I'd be able to watch TV during my dental procedure like my last dentist on the east coast but they didn't have one. It was hard to sit through my entire procedure without getting bored. I also was hoping they would understand my fear of dental work, and offer nitrous oxide as a calming agent like my last dental visits, which really helps, but they did not. They briefly listened to me, but quickly downplayed everything I said or stopped paying attention. I had to wait for a little while after I arrived for my appointment, but I've had to wait longer at other places. It's always uncomfortable having to sit through a dental procedure when they use really cold or hot water to rinse your teeth, but they didn't do that here. They made sure that I was comfortable with the water's temperature. It could have been a lot better, but they are helping the poor and indigent people, so they are on a very limited budget, and the waiting list to be seen for the first visit was about 6 months long. And I was disappointed when they stopped calling me like they promised for my followup appointments to put in the fillings I was supposed to have. I just recently lost a couple fillings from their work, and now am in terrible pain. I don't know how hard it will be to get seen quickly, or even if I can go back. They aren't very helpful at the front desk and promise callbacks that never happen.
