I have been trying to get an approval for an oncology referral made by my PA on 5-01-24 and it has continuously been ignored by this medical director. I then started calling every 2 hours for a referral update for 4 days now. Island Doctors staff just keep telling me that the doctor hasn't responded. FOUR DAYS. Now the Island Doctor staff is ignoring my calls - they are putting me on hold and not returning to the phone. PLEASE LOOK FOR ANOTHER DOCTOR. I will be filing a complaint with the state against this doctor tomorrow since it is now AGAIN after 5 today and still no response. And NO REFERRAL APPROVAL.

Please save the agony, time and money this doctor caused our family to lose, by seeing any other doctor. This doctor cares about VOLUME of patients, not about the patients themselves. Doesn't have any idea why you are there to see him.....hasn't looked at your chart. Prescribes outdated therapies and medications. Actually prescribes medications that are CONTRAINDICATED for your condition. Can't get off his personal cell phone long enough to pay attention to you. He only pays attention to the fat paycheck he must get from the insurance company sending him these volumes of 'uncared for' patients. A crook. And incompetent. Sad that he can practice medicine.

Dr. Hinman entered the room, THEN proceeded to wade through volumes of chart info. Spent at least 10 min perusing chart with me sitting there. Dismissed my concerns re: drug interactions as "we give those together all the time." Answered two cell phone calls during this one-on-one time with me.....In other words, gave an air of I was' interfering with his busy day and he couldn't be bothered to know what the medical history was. ' Professionalism very lacking. Remains to be seen what happens with his clinical advice....

It was nice to hear how much the staff respected them. It made me that much more confident that I was under the care of a professional. I'm always amazed at how considerate and concerned they are for my well-being. Their advice is always wonderful and completely unbiased. The restrooms at this office were spotless. It smelled amazing in there and looked immaculate. It was very easy to get an appointment. They have a very flexible schedule and get me in quickly every time. One thing I noticed about their office was how absolutely fantastic it smelled. They must clean or sanitize all the time.
