stephen kay owes me a giagantic appology, let me tell you his good points
he always has the smartest people in his circle, but may exclude others. Once excluded my best friend, which hurt him greatly. Steve, you missed
all the magic, and I'm afraid the hat may or may not have much left.
he is a ruthless competitor At Fairfax high, he slipped a disk trying to lift
500lbs above his head. Hey steve, trying to impress Jerry Reisboard or the other coach greasy slimeball scum who claim to be coaches and are really child abusers- Reisboard I'm calling you out buddy! Jackass
Dr. zeitzoo head of veterans hospital wilshire also calls you out- how dare you, how dare you fiend. I expect it from the boy scouts, but honestly. So steve you can donate something to me
I read by the reviews, your not much liked

Worst doctor ever. I went there for a 3pm appointment. Arrived at 2:15 to do the paperwork. Then at 3p they passed me to the room. Waited a WHOLE HOUR for doctor alone in that room. Finally he showed up, asked me a few questions, moved my arms up and down and said: "You have nothing", him knowing that I was in pain. Then he leaves without any other thoughts or even saying good bye or anything. My whole consult was under 10 minutes. Everything was so rushed and I felt completely neglected since he didn't address my discomfort properly. At the end, I had to look for another doctor and do the whole process again to get the proper care. Later to this, I still got a bill for close to $200 dollars from his bull*** and I even have an extremely good health insurance. Would I ever go to this phony doctor again? NO!!! Would I ever recommend this doctor, if I can call it doctor? NO!!!! NO!!! NO!!!! NEVER GO THERE!!! I ASSURE YOU IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME & MONEY!!!! They ignored my questions and my appointment seemed rushed.

I can't recommend Dr. Kay enough. Dr. Kay was first recommended to me by someone who had been to surgeon after surgeon for chronic back pain, though this individual always felt the surgeries being recommended by other doctors were too extreme. My friend had been hoping for less risky procedures out of concern for health, not for cost (he was well insured). When he went to Kay, he was given a simple suggestion to change his workout routine instead of being immediately offered a massively expensive experimental back surgery. My friend followed Dr. Kay's advice and quickly recovered.
My own situation was extremely sensitive since I had incurred injuries as a victim of a violent crime and was going through the criminal court process. Many doctors steer clear of crime victims for fear of being subpoenaed, but Dr. Kay never conveyed any concern or hesitation that he might be called to the witness stand. My biggest concern was that I was facing a future of some amount of physical disability because of the injuries and recoiled from being bullied by profiteering physicians who had tried to herd me immediately into expensive and invasive surgeries. I felt vulnerable and easily rattled and couldn't bear being in a room with someone who saw me as a freak (many doctors are weird and leery around "victims," as if one time bad luck might be a chronic disease) or who saw my case as just a paycheck. But considering my circumstances, no one could have been a better orthopedist to see at that time than Kay. His knowledge of the type of injury I had exceeded that of every other doctor I'd seen. Once he understood the history, he could guess symptoms and issues before I'd even described them. Also, my husband put it well when he said this doctor set the standard for how to treat crime survivors. It was evident he gave a damn. I even relaxed and we ended up having a cheerful routine banter at a stressful time when I was mostly tense as a tick around people I didn't know well. He made my family feel safe. It was a humanizing experience.
In the end, as with my friend, he was very honest about my options in a way that did not enrich himself but were the better options for me. Had I been desperate to be operated on just to feel like "something big and important" was being done to address my issues, I might have been disappointed. But Dr. Kay told me frankly that the cartilage regeneration technology I needed had not advanced enough yet and that, other than waiting for this tech to progress, all the procedures that had so far been offered by other surgeons were unproven, highly risky, would likely cause me more problems and were mostly being foisted to make a buck. He prescribed long term physical therapy, some good tips to prevent further damage and follow-up whenever I needed it. I'm still waiting for regeneration tech but, in the ensuing years, Dr. Kay's advice has kept me in one piece and I was certainly better off due to his honesty.
To this day, we've never encountered another doctor of this level of humanity, honesty, knowledge and professionalism.

dr kay conveys an attitude of disinterest in the both the history and discomfort of his patient.
my concerns were dismissed, no examine was made, no suggestions as to the cause of pain was expressed. his mood is melancholy and the experience was dismal.
i would never recommend this doctor or this office to anyone.

both my husband and i were dismayed by the lack of empathy or any evidence of medical competence during my visit.

Dr. Kay performed rotator cuff surgery on me. Without a doubt, he's THE authority on this operation. We developed a rapport right away. He was always responsive to every question I had for him. The surgery does entail a fairly protracted recovery period and Dr. Kay was always there and always encouraging. Dr. Kay surpassed all my expectations and any time I hear of someone in my ambit who has a shoulder problem, I always send them to him. He isn't in a hurry to operate on every patient. If surgery isn't absolutely necessary he won't recommend it More than one person I've referred to Dr. Kay has come away from a consultation with him with a therapy program instead of a date for surgery. Dr. Kay came highly recommended by one of the top doctors in the Los Angeles area. The recommendation was definitely well deserved.

I would never recommend them to anyone. They were terrible. They barely ever answer any of my questions over the phone, and I've had to make way too many appointments. They never made me feel uncomfortable for asking any question. The staff must have not been trained very well. Almost every time I would ask them a question, they'd refer me to their boss or someone else.

They were friendly, warm, and welcoming. I instantly felt at home and comfortable in their care. I didn't wait long at all. My appointment started on time, and the wait was much shorter than other offices I have been to. They never have that typical, annoying music playing here. If they do play music it is soothing and appropriate for the setting. It was nice to see them treat their staff with so much respect. It was obvious that they had a good relationship with all of their staff members. Not only were they able to provide everything they promised me, they went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations.
