I have been looking for docors and all have good and bad ratings- so I decided to go to Dr. Carstens!! I was extremely pleased- he is really smart, answerd my questions and found solutions. My husband is really happy with him too, even my mother, who is his patient too

Dr. Carstens is one of the best doctors in his field. While the wait to get in to see him may be long sometimes, I do know that when it's my turn and he needs to tend to my needs, he will take that time. Great bedside manner; very knowledgable and very cautious. I was in several high-risk pregnancies and he took such very good care of my babies and I -- did everything he could to ease my fears. His staff is wonderful too. His staff all really enjoy working there, and are really nice and helpful. Dr. Carstens is friendly, cautious (he's ordered additional tests for things other doctors would have overlooked, just to be on the safe side) and takes the time to get to know you. When he is not there his NP will see me, and I love her. I will recommend this great doctor to anyone

I scheduled my appointment to see the doctor. My husband takes the day off to go with me and when we get there I find out the doctor isn't there he is attending a delivery and I will be seen by a NP.I understand as I know babies usually do not let doctors know in advance when they want to come!! My appointment was to discuss infertility treatments, and a pap/checkup. I ended up seeing a NP , which I trully appreciate, since we did not waste our time! She gave me my exam, and then ordered blood work on me. I came back after the results were in, and met with Dr. C-both me and my husband were very happy wioth the experience. To make story short, I statrted treatment and got pregnant!!!! A healthy baby boy was the marvelous result I got from my seeing this great doctor. I realize not everyone has the same experience, and when you have an infertility problem you are looking to get your frustration out on someone. Dr. C is very busy, and delivers a lot of babies. They keep on coming to him because he is good and he is caring, and he gives evyone all the time thsy need form hi. He does not sugar coat anythis- so I imagine this will make some people upset- but I rather know the truth and see my options. I have referred everyone I know to him- and they are all of the same opinion- they all love Dr. C- Again if you are looking for someone caring and that knows his stuff- go to Dr. C

I scheduled my appointment to see the doctor not a nurse practitioner. My husband takes the day off to go with me and when we get there I find out the doctor isn't there and I will be seen by a NP. My appointment was to discuss infertility treatments, take care of any testing/labs that needed to be done, and a pap/checkup. I ended up not being seen that day and rescheduled. My husband took yet another day off work and I went to see the doc. Everything was going ok till I got back in a room waiting. A NP came in and ask me if I was there to see the doctor. I explained to her I was. She left and a few minutes later he came in, gave me my exam, and told me he wanted blood work on me. He spoke quietly where I could barely hear him. He left and I got my lab sheet as I left. Everything was fine until I called the doctor today. I asked if I should come in this week instead of next week, get the lab results and start infertility treatment since I started my period(Which are rare) this past weekend. The receptionist told me I had an appointment for that next week. I already knew that and just explained to her again that I just started my period and didn't know what treatment I was going to be on or anything else but if I needed to start treatment when I started my period then I should get in asap. After she hesitated for a few seconds she just said that the doctor is only there 2 days a week and there's no appointments left. I simply said thanks and hung up. I began calling around to some other doctors to see if I could get an appointment to see another doctor and get started on treatments or whatever needed to be done. I was lucky to find another doctor that had an appointment today. I had to get my records from Dr Carstens. That was like pulling teeth. I call them to let them know that I will be needed them for the new doctor and that I need the faxed over or I could pick them up. Well for me to pick them up or have them faxed it could take 2 weeks. Also if I wanted the records for myself I would have to pay $25. I don't know why I should pay for my own records but it sounded like bull to me. Needless to say after finding out there's no way I could get my records before my appointment with my new doc the receptionist hung up on me. After calling another office that Dr Carstens works at and talking to someone who spoke with someone over the records I was told that the records would be taken care of. However when I got to my doctor's appointment the records weren't faxed as they said. I called the office again and they said everyone was gone that could send my records so I wasn't able to be seen by my new doctor and it appears that my dreams of having a child for my husband never going to happen. I should have NEVER stepped foot in Dr Carstens' office.
