Detail oriented, excellent skills, great with young people. Very pleased. My family has seen Dr Hellman since his partner retired. We are extremely pleased with the care we have received. Dr Hellman is always willing to explain details or answer questions. I would not even consider finding a new eye doctor.
Dr Hellman's office is no longer in Norwich; He now serves His clients at The Crystal Mall in Waterford.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Hellman for over 30 years. He and his staff are always attentive and kind. I went as a child to this office and now my children are going there. 3 generations. That says something about their service.

I was definitely not a fan of Dr. Hellman's office. The man himself is an okay guy, but not so sure about a great eye doctor.

I only had a few price options for the glasses that I got... the staff kept insisting I get this "BRAND NEW" lens type that was out, so I gave in. The glasses that I got first with the new lens were horrible - made me very dizzy and gave me headaches (I can't remember the name of the lens type).

So I came back in a few days later. They charged me $600 for the "fancy" glasses, and when I traded them in for a normal pair they didn't take the price down... $600 for a regular old pair of glasses!? Ridiculous!

When the new regular glasses came in a couple of days later I got them and noticed right away that there was a small scratch right in the center of one of the lenses so I pointed it out. Dr. Hellman said something about a friend's patient he knew who kept coming back in with issues with his glasses and his friend thinking they were crazy. Not sure how that was relative to the scratch in my glasses at all.... But I decided to just keep the pair of scratched expensive glasses because I was tired of these people.

Anyway, now I have a $600 pair of glasses that don't even help me see better and I can't go back in without being called crazy.

Oh well!

I couldn't believe how rude and inconsiderate they were. I showed up before their scheduled closing time and they said they were closing. They knew I needed help but they still decided to close early. One thing that was upsetting about this optometrist's office is that they do not offer glasses repairs or adjustments. I had to go half way across town to get my glasses fixed. I never had to doubt their qualifications. They made their credentials completely obvious, which made me feel a lot safer.
