Been seeing Dr. Shippee since the mid 1970's when he moved to Millinocket, I have since moved 200 miles away and I still go back to them, down to earth approach, capable and fair fees, answers all my questions, reasonably available when ever I need to speak with them, always remembers me and we talk about more than just vision. I would definitely recommend he and his staff to anyone.

I visited this Dr. in the Patten office. He seemed to be real professional while I was there. At the time, I had taken of box of my current box of lenses which I just put in that morning. After my exam, I asked what the price of box of lenses would be....both the Dr. and his wife quoted me $25.00. When I went in the following week to pick up my lenses, they informed me that the price was $40.00. I said I would have to wait; as I was quoted $25.00. I phoned the office in Millinocket and spoke with a lady there and informed her of the situation and that she would get back to me. She did so later that afternoon; by leaving a voicemail on my phone. I phoned her back and stated that I felt that I should be honored the price that I was quoted. I asked to speak with Dr. Shippee, he was not available at that time. He phoned me back this morning and I informed him of what had occurred; he stated that he didn't remember. I asked him if he would honor the $25.00 fee, he said no. As a matter of fact, he stated that he was no longer to honor me a patient and that he would be sending my prescription and my records to me. I told him thanks and have a nice day. That is not very professional. To begin with, he stated his office offered me a discount because I was self pay and that the regular price for an office visit was $155.00, I was quoted $89.00 and I only paid $79.00 as that was the price for a patient with no insurance. After I got off the phone with him this morning; I had a friend phone the office and ask the price for an office visit, they were quoted $89.00. Does anyone see anything wrong with this????? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOES NOT STAND BY HIS WORD. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!!

No, They definitely believe in quality over quantity and allow more than enough time in between appointments

Kind of, but not very much

He/she would never do that! Their full attention is always on me.
