I rarely take the time to write online reviews; yet in this case, I feel compelled to share my experience. I’ve recently had a total hysterectomy performed by Dr. Silk and as I expected, she illustrated the utmost professionalism. Prior to the surgery, I was confident in her knowledge and her expertise and I considered her a mindful, considerate individual. Still, it was her thoughtfulness that exceeded my expectations with visits to check in on me every morning and every evening during my stay at the hospital. My previous experiences elsewhere pale in comparison. If you are searching for a capable, caring professional, I highly recommend Dr. Laura Silk.
My doctor sent me to Leominster Hospital to get my weekly non-stress test done. I was five centimeters dilated but had no pains or issue. My doctor felt bad and told me that she can perhaps stretch me to six if i were to have any problems. If not she told me that if anything she would induce me February 14, 2010. Carrying my twins was the best thing in the world. People would look at me and felt really bad because by the looks of it, they thought "poor thing" your so tiny! I had no problem at all. It is a long story with Dr.Silk let just say. Well i was one of the seven that she cut open that day. She had schedule for three of her patients for C-section, but the other four we not her patients and it so happen that i was one out of the four! She told me that there can be so many things that can happen and that my twins can have brain damages. I did not have no contractions what so ever! Long story short, my doctor did not know that she cut me open because she didn't email my doctor back. My doctor told me if anything she will be in at 6:00am if there were any medical problems, if not then she will see me when she see's me. Sure enough she came in at 6:00 am and ask me what happen. I had explain what happen and told her how i did not want the C-section, but Dr. Silk refuse to listen to me or my husband! Both my twins were head down and i was to deliver vaginal! She didn't give me the option and also told me beside my twins getting brain damage, that she is the doctor on call and that it is what she says! What was I suppose to do, run away?! I cried because i believe in natural birth, that is my religion. My doctor was by my side from the start and i wanted my doctor there. She did not care, because she got paid for cutting "SEVEN WOMEN" open! If you "DO NOT" want to have "C-SECTION" done, i would suggest for those pregnant mothers to look into who is on call at Leominster Hospital. I spoke with many women that i came across after my pregnancy, nurses and doctors at that hospital and around towns as well as surrounding areas. The word that i got from everyone was "Oh yes, Dr. Silk?! She is knife happy, so tell me what happen!" Some nurses there had also forgot to give me my medicines after the surgery and was about an hour late, one nurse fell asleep and didn't bring my twins back to the room. She says, "ooooppps i am sorry, i fell asleep!" Just be CAREFUL and be WISE! I would not recommend her at all.
