We have had an excellent experience with Dr. Rakes. He was recommended to me by two different pediatricians -- both of whom think he is an excellent pediatric allergist. A few things I particular appreciate: one, he thoroughly explains why he is recommending a particular plan of treatment (in a way that a lay person can understand) and welcomes questions; two, lab results are available online with his comments so I can read and think about the questions I have in advance of our appointment; three, nursing staff returns calls on a timely basis.

No, they needed to make more of an effort to stock them

No, it was obvious the staff didn't think he/she was qualified
Did this provider promise services he/she couldn't provide?
Yes, they were able to do almost nothing they originally said they could
Does this provider remember you by name?
No, and they don't make an effort to even try
Was this provider willing to stay open late to accomodate your needs?
Not at all. They closed early even though they knew I needed help

They either didn't read my information or didn't pay any attention to it. Even though they had my information right in front of them, I kept having to explain it to them and remind them why I was there. They didn't follow through with almost everything they told me I would get when I first arrived. I feel like they slighted me. One thing that I don't appreciate, is that they close exactly at their scheduled time whether someone needs help or not. I can't count on them to help me if I show up even a couple of minutes past their closing time.

No, its really far from the freeway and other shops

Not as good as advertised. Service could have been better. Despite my son's intense symptoms and 3 visits to the ER, all we were told was that his skin tests were negative and "better luck next time!" We are scared of the potential bad outcome and are looking for a second opinion elsewhere. Reviews on Facebook seem to be those from their friends and employees.

No, putting customers first doesn't really seem to be a priority to them
Is this provider easy to reach in an emergency?
No. It took me several times to get through.
Was this provider sympathetic to your situation?
Kind of, but I they could have been more understanding

Gary Rakes is wonderful. I was skeptical about seeing an allergist, because I didn't just want someone to shoot me up with shots and wisk me out the door. Dr. Rakes really listened, was completely unpretentious, and explained the science of what was happening in an accessible, but detailed way. I was there for two hours on my first visit and a nurse or Dr. Rakes was with me for a good deal of that time. He really took his time talking to me, and I so appreciated his complete attention. I feel confident about our plan for me to get better because he involved me in it.
