Dr. Robert H. Segal, M.D. is one of the more spectacular not only neurologists, but overall physicians of the era. I've been dealing with a severe, complex, and refractory case of RLS for a few years now and making him my first choice of neurologist to see was an excellent decision, as I've had no need to look elsewhere. He is extremely tech-savvy so he isn't limited to resources (since the Internet is probably the best and most abundant of medical resources these days) and as I'm a researcher and medical thesis artist myself, he doesn't fail to listen to all I have to share and say about the personal research I've done on my condition and gives even my own suggestions for medication/treatment significant consideration if he can render it to be safe. He is kind and humble, yet prompt and concise so to me, he is perfect as a physician by asking questions that matter as related to my condition rather than questions about my personal life, which, if I wanted asked, I'd see a friend or a psychiatrist so he'll not waste any time of yours. He has an online portal allowing easy communication and access to him, his resources, and his staff, eliminating the need to call to refill prescriptions. He calls on his own volition merely to check on me and my health and is attentive and thorough every time we speak. The only reservations I have are with some of his staff that can cause significant delays in getting prescription refill requests to him in a timely fashion, which, when you're treated for a condition with a drug that can cause withdrawal symptoms and the condition itself is extremely distressing and painful when you stop taking it, is a very troublesome matter, but that's of no fault of his, but rather some of his staff. It is a very large practice and I know they have many patients so I understand some of the logistical obstructions to the issue however a patient having to go through mild withdrawal symptoms nearly 4 or more times a year because the staff couldn't relay an electronically submitted request to the physician is no laughing matter and effort should be made to improve this issue. He gets five stars as a neurologist, five stars as a physician, and five stars as a colleague when we exchange research. I highly recommend him, despite the occasional annoyance with a small portion of the practice's staff.
