During a recent trip to the ER for a sudden MS flare my Neurologist was unable to be reached. In her stead Dr. Cohen was contacted. He declined IV steroids and opted for PO. That I understand. I hate going on IV steroids. But I was truly disappointed in his request that a CT be ordered. It is not even remotely helpful in diagnosis of any part of MS. I have had many CT's in the past for both MS issues(pre-diagnosis 9 years ago), and abdominal issues. I have been exposed to enough radiation and don't take the ordering of tests without purpose lightly. (The ER physician had no concern in the realm of stroke or TIA.) I would love to know his rationale.
