I will not be returning to Piedmont Primary Care after a horrible experience with Dr. Valverde-Salas and repeated experiences with the incompetent front desk staff. I sought care from Dr. Salas while my primary physician Dr. Zeichner was out on maternity leave. Dr. Salas is rude, judgmental, critical, and at times hostile. I felt as if he was mocking me for coming to him in a time of need and left Piedmont Primary Care feeling much worse than when I arrived, both mentally and physically.

It is unfortunate that I will be leaving Piedmont Primary Care because Dr. Zeichner always treated me well, but I no longer want to support Dr. Salas's practice and believe he should retire.

Dr. Vicky Valverde-Salas is a terrible doctor. I just found out I am pregnant, and my regular physician turned out to be on extended leave, so I decided to go in for an appointment anyway to get some advice and hopefully a referral to an OBGYN. I cannot believe how rudely I was treated by Dr. Vicky Valverde-Salas. When I sat down in the office I said, "Did they give you the test results?" and he just looked at me blankly. So I said, "Do you know why I'm here?" and he didn't answer. I asked if he had any information or had read my file and he said, "No." His demeanor was very cold and he implied that he didn't have any information. I don't like being messed with and I tire of games very quickly, so I said, "If you don't know why I'm here and you don't have the test results, then I maybe I should go somewhere else where they can help me?" Then he had the audacity to tell me that he never said that and that I'm being hostile. At that point, I stood up to leave. Why am I going to pay for this kind of service, right? How could I trust the advice of someone under these circumstances? Then he said, "I need to know how you'd like to proceed," implying that I might want an abortion. Um, gee, "doctor," I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PROCEED BECAUSE YOU NEVER CONFIRMED THE RESULTS OF THE PREGNANCY TEST!!! I'm not a doctor, but maybe if you want patients to make informed decisions about how to "proceed" then the first thing you should do when they ask you for their test results is to GIVE THEM THEIR TEST RESULTS. He never once said, "Yes, you are pregnant" or anything like that. He just wanted to mess around with a pregnant woman! This is definitely not someone I would recommend if you are a woman or if you want competent medical advice of any kind. Thanks for nothing, "Doctor"! I guess I'll just research OBGYNs on my own!

First of all, Dr. Vaverde-Salas is a geriatric male, not a female. He is an old curmudgeon. He has absolutely no listening skills (highly important for a family practice doctor) and a horrible chair side manner. He comes across as arrogant and condescending. He is a poor excuse for a doctor and a human being. He schedules unnecessary appointments, only for the purpose of billing your insurance. He actually spent five minutes with me at my last appointment. At my prior appointment he was supposed to fax an authorization request for me to see a specialist, but did not. He lied about having done what he was supposed to do at my next appointment and told me I needed to follow up and call my health plan myself to check on the status of the authorization. I did that after my five minute appointment (solely scheduled so he could bilk my insurance) and found they had no record of the authorization. I called the office back and found he never faxed it. So he had me going on a wild goose chase for something that did not exist. Most incompetent excuse for a physician I had ever come across. I had to enter into the complaint process to get anything to happen. Worst experience with a doctor ever. He should not be in practice. In fact, he should not do anything that requires that he interact with people.
