Dr York was working for Tri Valley Medical Clinic in Salome AZ just recently and we really liked her. When I called to change an appt date we were informed she is no longer there, she just didn’t work out. Don’t know why, she was very through and caring for her patients. La Paz County really is terrible at keeping good doctors. That is now two of them we lost at this clinic.
The waiting room here is appropriate for a rural, small town family practice (in Pine, not Payson as indicated on this guide). There are toys and books for children to keep them occupied while waiting. The staff really knows what they're doing, and they know a lot about the company they work for. They're able to answer most of my questions, and the only ones they don't are the ones they need their boss's approval for. Whenever I make an appointment, I'm always confident that they're going to be ready for me at my scheduled time. At other places I've been to, it's always bothered me when they reschedule my appointment, but they've only done that a couple of times (in 10 years), once due to an area-wide power outage and the other because the doctor herself was sick. The wait time is longer than usual, because she spends so much more time with each patient than any other doctor I've been to - as much as the patient needs. The best part of her manner is that she really listens to patients and this is the one comment I've heard more than any other about her. That's a good thing today, when doctors usually have little more than a minute or two to see a patient.
I am a retired biomedical research professional who used to work at a large university teaching hospital in Southern California. I have worked with literally dozens of doctors. I was also a medical equipment technician who visited hundreds of doctor's offices in the same area, so have had contact with many doctors and nurses. In my experience, Dr. York is one of the best three family practice doctors I have ever known.
