Mrs. Johnston was very disorganized, aggressive, and invalidating. After my first appointment, she proceeded to lose my insurance information, my notes, and I had to give it to her again the second appointment. Throughout the second appointment, she had loud background music, which made it difficult to hear her.
She made very invalidating comments to me throughout the appointment, from questioning the nature of my problem, as well as giving criticism of my coping mechanisms. She made me feel that my feelings were invalid as well as unjustified, which a therapist is not supposed to do. She also made me feel uncomfortable as well, with her asking rather personal questions off the bat, which made me feel like I was being interrogated.
I would not recommend her.

My son was a patient of Mrs. Johnston a year or so ago. She's wasn't very much help to him in addition he didn't have a connection with her. Her speech & mannerism was very aggressive . I resented the fact that she thought she knew more about my son than I did after only interacting with him on a few occasions. This is my ONLY child NEVER presume you have his best interest at heart more than his own mother. I came to Mrs, Johnston for help for my son not be be advised or criticize on my parenting skills.

I respect the fact she's a license medical professional in order for this to work because my son was under age at the time you must develop a relationship with the parent as well. I felt bullied as well as offended by her comments & statements regarding his appointments where she felt that I wasn't bringing him in enough or taking his condition seriously.
She wanted him to come in more than he needed to my son was also seeing a psychiatrist so he didn't need to see a license counselor weekly. I don't know if it was about the money or the fact she assumed he was that far gone so he needed weekly appointments

He's currently seeing another psychologist & psychiatrist one that he actually connects with that is helping him by leaps & bounds.My son is currently doing amazing. My advice to her is to work on her bedside manner in how you deal with people. I can honestly say that she needs to work on her social skills in terms of how she treats & deal with people.

I attempted to see her for abuse issues and I don't know why, but she was very, very rude and pushy. She, I guess, attempted to reassure me telling me that there was nothing I could say anything she had no heard. She did not care about me or my problem. She wanted me to hurry through it and get it over with, no matter how difficult it was and how hard it was for me to get it out. She has been doing this too long and gives off the "burned out" feel. She does not care, just takes the money and whatever your problem, if you don't deal with a non-emotional attitude you are dismissed. I was turned off from seeing other therapist because of her and since I have seen her, I have not seen another since. She is a disgrace and should NOT be a therapist for abuse victims!!!

I love Mary Ann and miss having her as my psychologist. I started seeing her at age 7 until I was 18. My insurance isn't listed and I live in a different area. Would be nice to see the fake reviews taken down so that the real reviews on the second page can be seen on the first page. Professional, friendly, listens and gives you homework to complete until the next visit to be completed about yourself and steps to implement for your recovery. She is very hospitable, it's like talking to a best friend, she doesn't have that bored detachment at all, great bedside manner. I give her more than 5 stars. :)

Not at all! They were boring and outdated

Definitely not. They were unaware of my situation, even though they had my information

Yes, it was downright irritating!

Absolutely not, the office was disgusting

The waiting room here is spacious. I never feel like I have to sit too close to someone or that it is overcrowded. Not only do they never postpone my appointment, they always try to get me in as soon as possible. I love that I can always get an appointment right away, and I never have to worry about them rescheduling it. They've stayed open past their closing times many times when I've needed help. They've never turned me away when I've needed them. They go out of their way to make everyone feel equally respected and cared for. I've seen client favoritism at some of the other places I've been, and I really appreciate the extra effort they make to avoid that here. I have noticed positive changes in our relationship since starting therapy. They have really helped us.
