It has been about 8 years since my daughter and I had the pleasure of meeting with Barbara Neuman. I have already written a review and I was trying to find her email address to tell her how thankful I am. My daughter was 9 and suffering from anxiety. (You can read my review under Niknaknik) - Anyway, she is 17 now, and applying for colleges. Her major....Forensic Psychology! 8 years ago I never dreamed she would be so outgoing and smart. She still has a bit of anxiety, but recognizes it and knows how to deal with it and without medicine. Barbara, if you ever read your reviews, I would just like to let you know that you had such a positive influence on my daughter and even after so many years, after 3 different social workers - you were the one. Thank you, and please know how important you are.

Not the worst, but certainly not the best

Did you have to wait long after you arrived for your appointment?
I had to wait for a little while.
Does this provider leave you on hold for a long time when you call?
No, they are really great about answering the phone right away
Does this provider always take that extra step to make you feel special?
No, I don't think they appreciate my loyalty

Not that I have seen

Absolutely! I can always count on them

Not at all, their office smelled fantastic!

No, they were able to provide everything they said they would

A few years ago, my daughter (who was about 9 years old) was having anxiety. She had always had signs of it, but it began to get to the point where I could not comfort her anymore. She was constantly saying "what if" and often crying at night. There was never any specific reason, sometimes she wouldn't even know why she felt the way she did. I could see such a scared little girl in her eyes, and my hugs and reasurance just wasn't enough.
I was lucky enough to find Barbara through my insurance co. I actually never believed in therapy, but when it is your child, this was an option I had to take.
In the first few sessions my daughter responded well, answering and telling Barbara about her feelings, but it wasn't until Barbara explained to me alone what I had been doing wrong. By comforting her I was giving her signs that something was wrong. I never thought that I would ever be told how to parent, but with her guidance, positive reasurance, and strong outlook, both my daughter and I took her advice.
Within a few months, there was no need to continue therapy. Barbara suggested we keep in touch and to contact her if we needed anything.
My daughter is 13 now. She has a 97 gpa, is on the VB team, outgoing, happy, and strong. Often when I look at her and see how well she is doing I thank God that I met Barbara. I just sent her a Christmas card, not sure if it was recieved, but I will always be so thankful for the help that she gave us.
I highly recommend Barbara. She made such a difference in my life that I actually felt the need to write this review.
