She is one of the most toxic and destructive evaluators who has found a lucrative practice in conflict generation in custody disputes by taking one side, ascribing 100% of the blame to the other side, doing a symbolic and very shallow 'psych eval' without ever meeting the child, using her "expertise" to shame, gaslight, and demean a person, and fancies herself some kind of court official with supreme authority who can tell a judge what she thinks should happen in highly charged custody disputes. She charges a fortune ($5000 to testify) and doesn't deign to itemize her bill and send you any kind of professionally written document. This person is one of the most disgusting examples of "part of the problem" of misuse of "dueling experts" in court battles deciding the well being of a child. Her abusive nature comes out in covert ways as she writes wild speculative assumptions designed to do intentional emotional harm, such as predicting that a parental relationship WILL fail, without actually knowing anything about the relationship at all! She's a monster - avoid if you can, but if forced to interact with her, like I was, do not trust her at ALL.

Terrible - Avoid if you can. She did not seem to understand the situation.

Made the wrong diagnosis. Thankfully I got a sense all was not as it should be and decided to get a second opinion. I'm so happy I did.

My advice - DO NOT GO TO THIS PERSON. She is the most biased individual I ever met. After 1 session which went absolutely smoothly she wrote a letter taking position supporting my ex wife to take sole custody of our child. This is only after 1 session lasting about 60 minutes, where we had absolutely no disagreements. She hadn't even read any of the stipulation prior to this meeting. Of course the case was dismissed in a matter of minutes. I could only imagine what she (allison bell) got from my ex to write the letter. I think this is really an ethics issue. When I asked for a refund for whats remaining from the retainer, she indicated to me everything has been used, and threatened that since I asked for a refund she will bill me additional. I should have read the other reviews as someone else also pointed out that she took his/her money. She should not be working in this field in my opinion.

i agree with all of the negative reviews. to be concise, we went to her for purpose of forensic evaluation/custody dispute. she did not 'get it'...
somehow she met with my ex's sister, who of course would take his side, and never called any of my references. when i said i thought he was having an affair with our au pair from 10 years ago, she asked if i had proof, which i did not... but guess who lives with him now? she was awkward, insensitive and used an antiquated assessment involving interpretation of abstract drawings(rorshach)... don't waste your money

I found Dr. Bell to be a warm and caring person who listened attentively to what I had to say. She was very astute with her assessment of me and my situation. After reading the negative reviews she received on this site I can only guess that the authors were not happy with her custody assessments. She was straight forward with her fee schedule with me and sensitive to my financial constraints. I would hightly recommend her to family and friends.

this dr. was supposed to handle the forensics of my custody issues for family court. she was extremely arrogant. didn't explain anything to me and made me feel uncomfortable on all visits. very self-absorbed. office is sloppy and i actually think she wasn't even listening for half the time. furthermore she never gave us a detailed itemization of fees and just took the $10,000 retainer and ran. her assessment for the court was off-base and led to my child being forced into a situation that she should have been protected from and her father was given a hand-slap for his temper but never did anything to help it. 6 years later we are still having major issues as a result of her assessment. she is not a person i would recommend to anyone.

Dr Bell was very unsatisfactory. She caused a great deal of problems in my relationship. She was forgetful about conversations and lied about fees. There are many wonderful therapists, she is definitely not one of them!
